I had a total knee replacement in 2005 and 11 total surgeries to my lower left leg. I have been to Ohio, Michigan, New York and Texas! My doctor gave me morphine 6-8 tablets per day for 3 or 4 years and it worked. He is retired now. Several of your readers are correct! If you look around for another doctor or ask for a specific drug you are a junkie, drug addicted doctor shopper. That sucks! Why is that? Where can I go in Northern Kentucky? I am not a junkie and I am not "doctor shopping" I just want pain relief! That's all! Why is that so tuff? I am 56 years old and a hard working person, not a freak!!

forgot to say I live in the Northern KY area so yeah these so called pain specialists are a joke. Have had epidural shots twice refused 3rd since just made me worse, then they did facet joint injections like 16 twice but of course made me worse cause doc was in such a hurry now they want to do some kind of radiology type thing which burns the nerve endings but of course they regenerate and may not help at all. Everything they have tried so far makes me worse so how much am I supposed to go through and can't get help for the pain they cause either.
these pain management doctors are a joke. I have been seeing one for 6 months at least. I have osteoarthritis of the spine, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylolethesis, and fibromyalgia so am in severe pain constantly. I see a Rheumatologist for the fibro but she says she is not allowed to prescribe anything for pain so referred me to pain management in northern ky. one doc said he didn't think I was a canidate for surgery so he wouldn't help me and the one I've been seeing since keeps giving me shots after shots and puts me in More Pain and only wants to give me the lowest dose of hydrocodone 325-one every 12 hours is he crazy? I was on 750's from my old family doctors 3x's a day and this so called pain specialists thinks less is better? He is very rude and has a poor attitude. Need to find someone else to help but don't know where to turn for help I only work part time and can barely do that anymore. What are decent people supposed to do? I want to cry every time I see someone mention go to a pain specialist.
Hello, Baron! How are you? I am so sorry that you're in pain.
Your best bet would be to actually see a pain management specialist. They are more likely to be understanding of your situation and how much pain you are in.
Can anyone suggest a good doctor that area?
