I Just Got New Medication Lexapro,

how long does it takes effect so it can put me to sleep? I haven't been sleeping the past 4 nights, i'm sleeping 2 hours the most during the daytime

Lexapro contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, it is an antidepressant, not a sleeping tablet, though it can cause drowsiness as a side effect.

That said, most of these medications take two weeks to a month to reach their full effect in your body.

Other side effects you may experience can include: nausea, dizziness and headache.
