I Have Caught Cvs And Other Pharmacies Lying About Not Having Oxycodone In Stock, Shortage 2012 (Page 4)

Updated

Well today I officially caught a cvs here in Ga lying to me. A friend of mine filled his Meds yesterday. I go in, having a history with cvs, a recent one, and am immediately lied to. The pharmacist comes over and tells me they haven't had them in stock for months, without looking at his book or computer. At this point I stated an employee I know the name of told me shipment came in Thursday. He lied again. I then told him friend had filled yesterday morning. He said it was impossible. I then said I saw the bottle with my own eyes, it had their address on it, and even told him what brand they had since my friend just filled his there. Pharmacist lied to me yet again. I then asked him why he wad lying to me and that I am tired of being treated like a criminal because I am 30 with a handicapped tag and a four page long mri report for my neck, mid, and lower back. I just found out I have central and foramina stenosis in my lower back, yea!! He then asked me if I had been having trouble filling. I said yes, it seems a lot of pharmacies are lying about not having it in stock. I said it is easy to tell on how they look at you, treat you, and if they check their logbook which is required for all schedule two Meds. I then gave him a chance to not lie and said "so you mean you filled the last of your stock yesterday." Since he lied to me again I decided it was time to call his district manger. The info I told him was correct but he decided to lie so its not my fault if he gets fired. U am going to let his district manager know the whole story, and let them know that if something is not done I will contact the news about discrimination against a legit pain patient for them not to get their Meds and have a normal life. They won't want bad press that is for sure, esp since I have a handicapped tag. I am in their system for filling the exact Meds I brought in, they have my discount card on file also, and my whole family uses their pharmacy so these ate the thongs I will tell district. Any other pharmacies who lie I will do the same thing to. So it seems the shortage going on here in Georgia and Florida are manipulated by the pharmacies and the distributors. Mckesson isn't shipping them out to rite aid, wal mart, sams, and Target. They are afraid of getting fined like a few years ago or getting in trouble like cardinal, cvs, walgreens, publix, and krogers distributor. Cardinal is still shipping from Mississippi and north Carolina, but not from Florida atm. The rest of the country is not having any problems, just Florida and Georgia. Since I have a lawsuit going against Allstate from my car accident(not my fault) and we are going after a doc who read someone else's mri to make his conclusion and type a bogus report to my insurance so they will not reimburse me anymore, we ate going after him for slander or defimation of character since he wrote I sell my Meds, maybe I can add cvs for pain and suffering and descrimination. This is absolutely rediculous these days. Sorry for the rant but people selling them ate making a killing these days and legit patients are going broke from price gouging or gas prices just so we can live a somewhat normal life. Makes no sense how out system works.

You sound like a real piece of work Chris." I'm going to sue you and you, oh and you too b****!" pain and suffering? I'm sure you're sketchy and that's why you didn't get your meds. I'm sure the car accident was your fault as well. People don't just go around saying "hey I wonder how many people I can screw over today." you brought it on yourself one way or another. Just own up and stop causing trouble. Move on dude you sound like a p*****.

Ponder for a moment that legitimate patients everywhere, people with major spinal chord damage cannot get legitimate prescriptions filled. Yet every drug dealer who has no job, no prescription, no pathway what so ever to this medication has pockets full, a steady supply of this allegedly tightly controlled medication!!?? Well a legal prescription which sells for $300/month but on the street that same supply can fetch $2,000. Do street gangs have their own Pharma reps or are the ones that own the business purposely denying legitimate patients while supplying their low life legions to maximize profits because frankly they know the time is short for the Earth's population. Think that's crazy? Explain how drug dealers have an unlimited supply of med's that pharmacy's claim they cannot stock and that the fake gov't alleges are so tightly controlled. Maybe legitimate citizens will start robbing drug dealers. God only knows that the real scum responsible is hiding at the top of the pyramid!

People shouldn't say things when they don't know what there are talking about. Chris obviously has pain, and needs medications.
I have nerve pain, and some days it gets so bad, and the pain is so unbearable, I wish I could die, I hate taking pain meds but what other answer is there?

i live i ga too. and my husband uses cvs i hate them, but he gets 20mg oxycotin 60 mth & maked them last 50 days instead of 30 days 2 times cvs has treated him that way & then wanted all his credentials. they dont carry them @ our walmart so he gets the 1 script from cvs & his bldpressure meds @ walmart. he has co-pay w/ ins so it really doesnt matter what pharmacy. we pay cash for my dr`s & meds every mth they want 600.00 to put me on his ins. CRAZY, but i use walmart & after 2 yrs using them & same dr & just finishing another yr where i went thru chemo walmart has been great they personally know me what i can & cant take. only 1 time there was a problem from my other dr writing wrong script. i only get pain meds from 1 dr but i take everything to walmart. i think cvs is messy

@Melissa: WHAT drug seeking behavior?? You're clearly not a medical professional, since going to a pharmacy with a legit script and verifiable, multiple diagnoses of painful conditions is NOT drug seeking behavior, nor is asking a pharmacist why they blatantly lied to a patient. You have no clue what you're talking about and should probably keep your ignorant, judgmental comments to yourself. I will receive my MD in a few months and have been trained well in determining drug seekers from legit pain patients, and this person does not exhibit any through his or her writing. Walk a day in a chronic pain patients shoes, then run your mouth.

I understand your situation about not getting the pain meds you need. Today when I took my new script into Walgreens they would not fill it. They said the FDA wouldn't allow them to fill that amount. I have chronic back pain and I'm furious as I am in legitimate pain. Even being a senior citizen doesn't make any difference. The Dr. starts you out with these meds and then increase the amount because I accommodated the previous amount. Anyone who takes Percocet or Oxycodone on a daily basis is addicted to it. I didn't ask to be addicted and I don't buy street drugs or abuse what the Dr. prescribes for me. I'm very angry about this situation. All pharmacies will soon have to follow these guidelines. My husband is in the same boat as I am and his back is causing his terrible pain and the funny thing is that he did so much heavy lifting for so many year and he worked at Walgreens for 35years.

Mike, get a life. You're obviously an ignorant, judgmental kid. Telling a person you've never even spoken to that they caused an accident you know nothing about. Wow, you're truly brilliant. Of course using the words "dude" and p**** gave away your ignorance and age alone. Grow up.

I was told yesterday for the second time in three months that Publix is no longer filling prescriptions for oxycodone. I know this to be a lie. The last time the pharmacist told me this he said that I needed to be on something long acting. I was taking methadone & oxycodone for breakthrough. I told him that methadone has a 12 hr. half life, he then said but it's dangerous. I had been taking this combination for eight years. I finally agreed to take ms contin instead of methadone so I could still fill the oxycodone. I didn't care for ms contin but didn't say a word because I was afraid they would take away the only thing that really worked for me at this point. After going through all that. I got a call two weeks before I am to fill my scripts again, saying Publix is not filling oxycodone. I am now in a state of panic not knowing where I will fill my meds. I've seriously considered suicide because I will certainly lose my job because I cannot go to work in full blown withdrawal. Sorry for the rant but I'm scared and don't know where to turn. I'm not a criminal, I don't sell my meds, I just want to be treated like a human being in chronic pain.

Dan s- have you tried any other pharmacies other than publix to fill your meds? I do feel for everyone that really is in actual sever pain. However, i do understand both sides. There are strick rules and guidelines for all controlled substances, and even more for c-2's. And a pharmacist can deny any script. They do not HAVE to fill any prescription. They may turn anyone way, especially if they do not fill comfortable filling that prescription. It is their discretion. Their job isn't just customer service, filling your script, and making you happy, they're a health care provider, a doctor of pharmacy. They are just as qualified, if not even more than a MD. They know all the same information if not more. And I can say this because I am a MD, and my wife is a pharmacist. You know how many time a day a Dr office or hospital will call the pharmacy and ask what they should prescribe, or what should they give or do for this?! She's always telling me about it. And they can lose their license to practice also just like a MD can. A c-2 medication is definitely more likely to be out of stock then a blood pressure medication because of the regulations on it. Only the head pharmacist who has the power of attorney can putin the c2 order. and then they can only order somuch of it.and can only order it on certain days of the week. Then the DEA may or may not send you any of it. So because they can only get small amounts of it and because there are so many people on it and in pain is why the pharmacy may not have it. Then once it has been dispensed they have to wait to send the order on the next day they can. Yes, some places will lie to you and say they don't have it, but just because they say this, dont just assume they're lying. Its very possible this is the case. But don't go in there raising all kinds of Cain and being rude, that will put you worse off than you were, plus, they could be telling the truth and then next time you come in there chances are they will remember you and then refuse to fill it for you then because of how much of a jerk you were. I'd hate for someone you really needs that medication be turned away because someone cussed out the pharmacist because they just thought they were lying when they really did not have that medicine that time. And there is no law suit there because they refused to fill for you. That is their right to do so. Just like it is for a Dr to dismiss a patient. And going to the media/press won't get ya will not get you anywhere either. Simply because they have the right to turn you away. And yes, there are behaviors and reactions people give off that can be questionable or raise a red flag for any medical professional. And the patient may not even notice or mean to it.so whether you are or are not playing the system just be aware of how you may come across to others, and how they might perceive your actions. And remember, just as much as you don't like to be discriminated against, don't be hypocritical and discriminate against a pharmacists all because you've had 1 lie to you before. And please do not take any of this the wrong way. I was not meaning it in that manor. Best wishes to all.

Of course I've tried other pharmacies! The problem is that I have been with Publix for too long. Most pharmacies are not taking new patients of their prices are unaffordable to me. If a pharmacist fills the same prescription, from the same doctor for years & then decides he wants to tell me which prescriptions my doctor can & cannot write then what am I paying the doctor for? I should just cut out the doctor & pay the pharmacist $250 a month. If your wife is a pharmacist then you know the oath they take, it begins with truth. This pharmacist has ruined my quality of life. I don't know how someone like this can live with themselves.

@ dr west coast: a pharmacist is as qualified or more so to diagnose than an MD?? Pharmacists are NOT at all qualified or properl trained to diagnose. I'm a third year medical student with two pharmacists in my class. Both have struggled and failed a couple of classes because they felt they had not been properly educated at their respective pharmacy schools, and they sure couldnt diagnose when they got here. To say a pharmacist is qualified to overstep boundaries and deny a doctor's orders is just plain ridiculous. I have to question whether you are actually an md because of that statement...

Very well said, Melissa. And this is not being against oxycodone for me...but something ppl have to face the facts that this drug is not going to be available much longer. Melissa's advice is good and many would do well to follow it. So many ppl are on oxycodone bc their dr started them on it and now they have become so dependent on it that they think they cannot live without it. There are other pain meds that can help your pain. It's the addiction that is the hardest to stop. Oxycodone is NOT the only pain med out there but one that ppl like taking bc of not only the pain relief from it but also from the energy boost, high, etc they get off of it if they would only be honest with themselves and stop being in denial. I was there and went through the very same thing I am now posting about. It is obvious so many making the posts are nothing more than dependent or addicted to this drug. Save yourself a lot of trouble and withdrawals and get your dr to prescrible a different pain med before you are left with nothing to manage your pain issus. Just saying...

Who do you think you are telling people that are having these issues they have no legal recourse? That is merely you opinion and a bad one at that. If a patient can show that the judgement made upon her is false and that the employee had no grounds or reasons for making such a decision not to service her she can indeed file a suit. This is America and anyone can sue anyone for anything get clue. There is no law stating that if it is not a life sustaining medication they have every right to refuse or not fill...you have pulled something out of your anus stating that one. Just as they have the right to service they also have the right to be sued for not servicing with out just cause. Discriminating against people with disabilities is right up on the top of a hungry attorneys list of lawsuits they will take.
