I Have Been On Subutex 8 Mg 3x A Day For A Year.

I ran out of subutex and took Methadone for a week. Approximately 80 mg a day, and the last few days 40 mgs. I have Subutex but I'm afraid to take it bc of the precipitated withdrawal. It's been almost 72 hrs. I'm feeling bad but also have a stomach virus so I don't know if it's withdrawal or if I'm still waiting for this stomach bug to move out. I've been sneezing like crazy, shaky and sweaty. I need to take my Subutex badly. I have 3 kids and I just waht to feel normal.

Well no one replied but after waiting 72 hrs, I took 2 mgs of subutex. I still felt that icky withdrawal feeling. I waited and took 4 mg the next day, and was still a lil icky. After the 3rd day I started feeling a LITTLE better. After the 5th day I was back to normal. Thank God! I'll never touch Methadone again. I was on the clinic for 10 yrs, and now I KNOW my Methadone days are truly over. I hadn't touched it in 4 yrs until a few weeks ago, but man, now I know why.

I'm sorry that you didn't get a fast response. Like any free website, sometimes there are a ton of people posting and responding, but other times there aren't.

The FDA classifies Subutex as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I'm also very sorry about what you went through. Methadone is notoriously hard to get off of and withdraw from and it had to be scary to go through that.

Don't take any suboxone until you are down to 15mg..You could go into withdrawls.

Thanks. I take subutex but I waited 72 hrs after having NOTHING before taking my Subutex. I can guarantee that will never happen again. I hate Methadone, I was on clinic for 10 years and slowly but surely my life went down the drain because instead of taking it as help in sobriety I have used it and mixed it with benzos and it was not a pretty life. I've been on Subutex for about 2 years now and that is my miracle drug. It has worked for me and I don't abuse it and I've never failed a lab test and I feel so much better I can't believe I was stupid enough to take that but I was out of subutex and had no other choice really but I will never let that happen again I'll just go without
