I Have A Huge Problem!

I've been on Loestrin 24 for 8 months now. And everything has been fine and has worked for me. It made my periods much, much, much lighter; while my acne has cleared up entirely. However my boyfriend and I were having sex and the condom broke! So now I am scared that the birth control won't protect me from becoming pregnant. My period should be here from today-to 2 days. I feel like it's going to start by the way my body is acting. But I feel like I'm stressing myself out. So maybe it won't show up or whatever. Any ideas? :(

Yes, you are stressing yourself out and probably needlessly. If you were taking the birth control tablets every day, without missing any, like you are supposed to, then there is less than a 1% failure rate for oral contraceptives.

The only way to ease your mind, however, would be either for your period to start or for you to take a pregnancy test.

I've been taking birth control since my son was 3 weeks old and he is now almost 16 and never gotten pregnant. I prefer it for the way it keeps my periods lighter and I can control when I have one.
