I want to know why my dr. will only prescribe me 90 pills of 10mg oxycodone for a month yet know people that get up towards 120 a month. Because by the end of my month I have to live in pain for a week and a half before I can drive to his office wait in the waiting room and finally be see, just to get the same 90, which aren't enough.

I can tell you that if I take a NSAID like that my stomach will bleed out and I will need a lot more than just opioids.
Everyone is different lots of people can’t take NSAIDS. Someday you too will get stomach bleeds from them. Then what will you take for pain?
Re: ana (# 10)
You can request whatever you want, you would want to request that your doctor put in your medical records that you need this. If the doctor isn’t on board, the workers comp insurance company will certainly not give it to you.
Re: AlwaysInPain (# 9)
Yeah the IR medication is usually every 4-6 hours, but they don’t expect you to wake up in the night to dose so I guess that’s why 3 a day?
Re: Matthew (# 8)
Well they are right you have to talk to your PCP about all those problems, they are the ones who order the tests to check your organs, they are the ones who rule out everything else to determine if it’s the medication or if something else is happening. They are the ones you see for work ups like that. But are you taking gabapentin? Gabapentin will rot your teeth right out.

In New Hampshire the board of medicine actually disciplined a pain management Doctor Who fired a patient for having SI after his medication was reduced so much the pain wasn’t treated anymore. The patient said he was experiencing suicidal thoughts because of the constant pain, so the doctor fired him. He complain to the board of medicine and they actually took his side. I was shocked and delighted.
Re: Jan (# 4)
It’s really frustrating a lot of pain management doctors don’t know how to handle withdrawal, my last pay management doctor was still using that old oxycontin sales pitch they got them sued, she was trying to tell me that anyone taking 60 mg a day or less can stop cold turkey and not have withdrawals. I laughed at her and told her that is absolutely untrue, every time I have stopped taking pain medication over the last 10 years I have tapered down to half of a 5 mg at night, and I still have withdrawals for almost a week. At 2.5 mg, so they don’t know because the drug reps tell them that people don’t have withdrawals from this medication if they’re not abusing it.
Re: rover (# 2)
Lol yeah it did.
You asked the minimum he can give you.
Zero is the minimum he can give you 0 pills if he wants to.
I get 105 it’s up to your doctor and your insurance company.
Medicare limits the amount of adderall they’ll pay for per month, but my doctor called for an exception and they granted it.
It’s up to your doctor 1st, they can tell you that you can only have 10 a month if they feel like it but they may be sticking to the 90 because they know that’s all your insurance will cover.
I get 120 monthly. Your 90 is only 3 per day. Can you tell him your still in pain? That’s what I asked my dr.
Re: rover (# 2)
Where do you go? My Dr stopped giving me my oxycodone. I need help please!!!
I had a back accident years ago. I was taking 20mg of oxycodone 3x per day and I felt great. Well, my Dr will NO LONGER prescribe them because it’s too much trouble!!! Any idea who will not give me any BS? Just looking to live comfortably. Thanks.
Re: Matthew (# 8)
I'm so sorry that you feel this bad!,I too take Okycodone for lower back pain and It does slow down your life! I would like to get off it, but am in so much pain!!!
Is 180 oxycodone a month normal? A Dr I know prescribes that.
Be happy you're getting 90 of those lovely little gorgeous little beautiful pills
You are on overload. In spite of that I wish I could go to your Dr. I don't get enough to stay sane. But would not let them take me as far as. They have you. Find help now.
Dr. Will just wants money!!! He put the needle in the wrong place for 2 (forgot the name) epidural lumbar txs, one made my arms and legs jump up and I screamed simultaneously. He told me not to be so dramatic. He was frustrated at me when I went to the ER for one. They told me it was done in the wrong place. He's either a jerk or seriously wanted to hurt me or he was stupid. After I did the useless Spinal cord Stimulator he had to take it out because it ended up in the wrong place many times. Shortly trying the drug pump and getting the last of the 100 of 1000s he fired me after rubbing it in my face that I cost too much. I was allergic to the machine and it caused so much itching it was insane. I called him to ask him a ? and he gave me his cell phone number so I called and then he acted like I was stalking him. I jumped off a building. The pain meds worked best but the only people that cared and believed me, good people, he fired. I would like to know why he torched me? I went there every week, they counted my pills, and gave me drug panels. Everything was fine. Do you think I should Holla off the rooftop TCPC are awful!!!
Man I've been where you are!! I was on oxycodone 30mg five times a day and methadone 10mg five times a day.
I normally wouldn't reply to this... But you HAVE to get off the Oxy! It made my pain WORSE, NO LIBIDO, wife very upset too and that causes stress and the panic attacks at night.
I had to get help and was able to use a program called Celebrate Recovery. Some people need inpatient. I didn't sleep for almost 5 days at first.
BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!! I feel better today than I have in years and I have HOPE!
God Bless.

I have been in this pain clinic for 3-4 months. I had to get on Oxycodone because the norcos were ruining my liver. The 1st month I was given 3 10mg oxycodone. The next month it was increased to 4 10mg per day. I am still in excruciating pain and wondering if it would be appropriate to ask for 20mg as the 10mg are NOT working.
I moved from ny to kissimee. I need a Dr that writes percocet. I got a broken tibia and fibia and spinal stenosis. Can anyone help?
