This contains the active ingredient Tretinoin, which is an acid form of Vitamin A, which probably explains the peeling.
And, as a result of what you are suffering, you basically have 2 options, either way it out and see if it clears up on its own, or go to your doctor.

Since it is a chemical, I am not even sure what else may help with this type of peeling/burn, because there are some ingredients used in moisturizing lotions that may just make it worse.
Has it improved any?
