I have a prescription for Hydrocodone and have been taking it as prescribed. Recently I took a urine test which came back positive for not only Hydrocodone, but Oxycodone as well. I have only taken what has been prescribed to me, and do not take anything else. I do not know how Oxycodone showed up in this test. Any information, thoughts, theories would be greatly appriciated.

We had a soldier that is prescribed Hydrocodon -acetaminophen and
ibuprofen and Cyclobenzaprine for an injury. During our UA he popped hot for Oxycodone. The soldier says he has only even taken the upbove, he was terrified and shaking at the thought of being discharged for a crime he did not commit. How common is it for Hydrocodon to show up as Oxy?

Ok, so i go to pick up my script for roxys today. When i get there they want a urine sample. I had been taking some of my hydrocodone that i was recieving by script( same doctor)because i ran a few days short , due to trying to work. My next appointment isnt till june . Am going to see if he will raise my roxys to the next dose up. Will they both show up the same on my urinalyses? It was being sent to ameritox lab. Just wondering if i have anything to worry about??? I do have bulging disc, wore vertebrate, severe psyiatica, and severe arthritis. So i am legitamently hurt, and in constant pain...

When the medical review officer contacts you, you do not have to tell him or her why your getting the meds. Only that you have prescription and the number on the bottle. He may ask the Drs. name but you do not have to tell them why. I had one done four months ago and he said you do not have to answer this if you don't want to, why are you taking these for? I told him I did not want to answer that this was between my Dr. and myself. He then just asked for script number and pharmacy name and number.

Hi , I know this was posted a long time ago but i wanted to document and reply for anyone else who sees this string for info KNOWS that these pain clinic urine tests CAN ABSOLUTELY BE INCORRECT and it's ridiculous that the people/drs who work there make you seem and feel like a liar when they should be aware that these tests can be inaccurate! And, i agree that these places can be a nightmare and i really think the one I'm unfortunately going to is a scam. And, i am living a nightmare right now. I have never delt with pain clinics (my rheumatologist always prescribed my Vicodin because i have lupus along with another auto immune connective tissue disease. I had to go to this pain clinic to have an epidural for two very bad bulging discs) The epidural went very wrong and the moment i woke up my left hand fingers , hand & arm were in EXCRUCIATING PAIN to where my skin couldnt be touched even by water. My nerves were affected (which I was told was rare and they think i have RDS that the epi made full blown. I went back the next day to get IV steroids and pain meds because in one day my feet, back, neck, arms, hand was affected. Dying in pain , young, little boy, lots of farm animals..I needed to get relief from the pain. There's a lot more to this story which i sware is unbelievable to me when strong drugs are being given out but it would be too long but I was prescribed by them first visit oxycodone, second visit month later still dying of pain prescribed fentanyl patches and 180 oxycodones. I stopped taking the oxys completely. I threw them away and next visit was prescribed Vicodin which I asked the dr assistant for which I sware they are clueless about these drugs...the dr. Had only seen me twice out of 4 visits. The vicodin had too much tylenol in it for my liver so last week i had to go back in AGAIN and asked for norco that had less tylenol in it. I had to give a urine test which ive never done before and it came back positive for OXYCODONE when i hadnt taken one of them in a month! Told the guy i had taken only vicodin that am which was the TRUTH. Looked at me like i was a liar and when i said theres something wrong with that test and asked if it can be false he said shook his head no and said you must have taken one in the past 4 days. I was pissed because i DID NOT take the oxy and i was not lying..so, he wouldnt change my script to lower dose tylenol and now i have to go BACK IN tomorrow am to finally see the dr again. 4 times in 3 weeks. There is some way that these tests can come out wrong and I feel horrible for the people that got dropped. I had no idea what these places were like. I never want to go back there after this nightmare that happened there to begin with is over. Not EVERYONE abuses these drugs or sells their scripts. They need these drugs to function and don't get high off of them. I actually freaked out and hated the feeling when I took too much Vic by accident. It's maddening that now so many people abuse them that it makes it even more difficult and horrible for the people who are suffering! Sorry..just had to get that off my chest.

I would ask for a blood test. This will show up what was taken. Were you given the test at the Drs. office or was it sent out to a lab. for testing. If you are taking your meds as prescribed then demand a re-test immediately. If it is sent too a lab. they generally do a split screen and keep just in case they need to do a test over again. If done in Drs. office ask right away for another test to be done. Stick to your guns.

TH THING I CAN THINK OF IF ALL POSSIBLE IS THAT MAYBE THE PERCOCET THAT WAS WRITTEN FOR ME DOESNT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS WHAT THE PHARMACY GAVE ME WHICH WAS ENDOCET THE YELLOW ONES AND SINCE I ONLY JUST STARTED GETTING THOSE TWO MONTHS AGO IM WONDERING IF THAT IS THE REASON IVE FAILED

After you take an employment drug screen can the labs. Dr. ask what the reason is for getting this medication prescribed to you. Can't they only ask if you have a prescription for the meds. that showed up on the lab. test? I would appreciate it if anyone can answer this for me.

I take hydrocodone I take hydrocodone and kadian, I 10/325 and kadian 50mg, well I smoked a joint on 09/17/12 so I ask my friend can I use her urin3 for my drug test, I crunched up my pills and let them sit in her urine overnight, will the laptest show that I havent been takin( my meds? I have but it wasnt my urine. Should I be worried

I know all too well, I was terminated by mine, because they said I had methadone in my urine...which I have never taken. But, the guy in front of me in the lab that WAS on it. And the "nurses", or whatever they are..NEVER changed gloves...(yes, I notice these things)...HMMMM....
We are just cattle, herded thru...at 150 dollars a pop...nice racket they have...

I had the same thing happen to me. I had a failed back surgery, and even the Pain Mngmnt Dr. said I should be in pain because of some pinched nerves. I take as prescribed, took a test in April. Then my June appt.they made me take another. In July I was called and told both tests came back that I hadn't been taking my meds, and that they wouldn't be prescribing them again. I was accused of selling or giving away my pills-basically calling me a felon. I was devestated. Not only was I worried about the pain and the accusations, I was scared about going through withdrawals.They caused me to become dependent-after taking them for a year-then left me on my own to deal with WD. I even asked for help since I knew I was going to WD, and they said no. I went to my PCP and he is prescribing my meds, but now I don't want to go back to that Dr. for injections or any other forms of Pain Mngmnt because I feel like they will be looking at me like I'm a criminal!

I don't understand this - I can not live in this kind of pain (failed back surgery and osteo arthritis of hip and pelvis). PLEASE HELP!!

I just got a false negative - they said that I added something to my urine to make it look like I was taking anything. #1 WHY in the heck would I do that when they are the ones prescribing pain meds #2 HOW would I do that. They are dropping me as a patient and my PCP won't scribe pain meds cause I was honest and told him I was seeing pain management clinic and about the test

Re:GARY, I too had this happen to me last month & I was freaking out that my Dr. was trying not to give me my lortab bc he said oxycodone was also detected & I knew I hadn't taken anything other than the meds I was prescribed(lortab,coumiden,prozac,prilosec & phenergan)! I demanded to be sent to the lab. The test they do there(urine also) is more detailed & more costly but I was able to prove there were only opiates(my lortab) present. So no worries if you know ur being honest...they will get it straight for you! GOOD LUCK ;)

Crush half of a pill & stir it into your urine until it dissolves. Then you should have plenty show up in the urine test. I know a guy in severe pain & he takes his meds only when he truly needs them & sometimes he drinks so he never takes pain meds while drinking & he said that he bought a pill crusher & crushes 1/2 a pill every trip to the DR & it's worked for him every time. I have a malabsorption problem & I've never crushed any pills in my urine & my urine test come back fine. I went to the ER for a random drug test & tested positive for lyme disease & then was tested by a specialist & luckily it was a false positive!

I go by the book on everything, the sobs at ameritox reported I am negative not taking pills at all. now my doc thinks I am selling!!!!!!!! I would never ever do that kind of thing. i go to a pain clinic and am prescribed percocet and ran out over a week early and took loratabs that i had at the house and then was completely out for a week and they tested my urine, i told them i had run out early and the last pill i took was a week ago. So can they tell that it was loratab and not perc?
And I had taken sudafed cause of my allergies for a few days including the day of the pee test but didnt mention that i was taking it. I googled it and it said that it will show up as meth cause its the one with the sudafedrine in it. Please Help and tell me what to think, my next appt. is in 3 weeks and im so nervous
