I Found Some Large White Round Pills With The Numbers 54 Over 090 On Front Side What Are They

I am just trying to identify some medication that I found in my parents old house. If anyone can tell me what these are that would be great, thank you.

Do you have any idea how old they might be?

I'm not 100% certain, but I did find some information leading me to believe that these may be some old time released Morphine tablets that were provided by the Veteran's Administration.
