I accidently took my husbands medician, Plavix 1/2 of a 75 mg. Is this a problem? thank you for your help.
I recently started back on coumidin(warfarin)for blood clots.I'm having horriable side effects.Weight gain, bloating, fatigue, aches & pains ect.I'm curious if plavix can be taken for blood clots & if so are the side effects as bad?
Joanie, yes, that is also a possible cause, as well as it possibly being from the medication, if your INRs have been fluctuation, so dosages have had to be adjusted.
However, if you look around the various posts on here, you'll see that many people with Thyroid problems do suffer fatigue and it can be very bad.
It could even be a combination of things.
I do wish you the best of luck with the tests and hope you don't have another problem to add to things.

Is there anything else I can help with?
On warfarin medication to keep lung blood clots from forming.
Have been taking this medication for 11 months.
My INR counts have been up and down.
Am experiencing a great deal of fatique.
Could an unbalanced thyroid be the reason for the fatique.?
Presently, my Doctor is having me do aThyroid Blood Test TSH.
Thank You.
What are you taking it for? Have you consulted your doctor?
The reason I ask is because, in cases where someone is taking it due to some heart problem, it may not be the medication itself that is causing the fatigue. In these cases, the fatigue could be caused by the cardiac condition, itself.
Unless they are constantly having to adjust your dosage, fatigue as a medication side effect should wear off and not be as severe, after a few weeks, when your body has adjusted to the medication.
Thus, you really need to consult your doctor, to make sure it's the medication and not something else.
Plavix contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel and, even if your fatigue is caused by the medication, there is no way of knowing whether or not this one will eliminate the problem for you. All medications can affect everyone differently.
