Hydroxyzine Hcl Otc Alternatives?

I need the best over the counter meds available as an alternative to hydroxyzine hcl. They say zyrtec, benadryl & bonine are good substitutes? Plz verify. Are there any others? I'm looking for a calming effect.

The most calming of those choices would be the Benadryl, which is also available as a generic, but you should only take it if your doctor agrees that it is safe for you.

It can also cause drowsiness and dizziness as a side effect, according to NIH reports.
