Is it safe to use Hydroxyzine when you have open angle glaucoma? If not, what medicine can I use that will help me with my allergies and allow me to sleep at the same time? I'm also trying to wean off Clonazepam because I got my self hooked on 0.5 mg every night and not I can sleep if I don't take Clonazepam. Any advice, please

I didn't find any warnings about not being able to take it with open angle Glaucoma.

However, it isn't recommended if you are over 65 years of age, due to possibly being more susceptible to its side effects, which may include drowsiness, dizziness, and sedation. If someone is a senior, there are other medications they can take that treat the same conditions, and are considered safer.

As to the Clonazepam, it is well known to be habit forming, and due to the risk of experiencing seizures if you stop taking it abruptly, you should speak to your doctor about a proper tapering schedule.

Are these the only medications you are currently taking?
