Hydroxychloroquine 200 Mg Tab

i just filled a prescription for hydroxychloroquine and instead of the round pills i received an oblong pill with HCQS printed on one side

Hi Susan,

I don't think there's anything to worry about as long as the dosage is in line with what you were told. Manufacturers constantly change the shape or color of their pills without prior notice to the public. The pill in description marked HCQS is Hydroxychloroquine sulfate (200 mg); just as you described.

Hydroxychloroquine is classified as an anti-malarial medication and is one of a number of drugs that have been used for many years in the treatment of malaria. It is also useful in treating systemic lupus erythematosus as well as rheumatoid arthritis and Sjgren's Syndrome (all rheumatic disorders).
