My rheumatologist recently administered cortisone shots in my lumbar region and also prescribed Acetaminophen-Hydrocodone 500-5 tablets along with Tramadol ER 200mg for my ankylosing spondylitis. Can anyone tell me what the Tramadol is for? I start a new job tomorrow and am reluctant to take either of these medications since i don't know how they will affect me. they expired 2 years ago, can they still be taken? ## Hi Christeen, There's actually a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication, but according to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. Got a generic for watson hydrocodone 10 500 has mb63 marked on it. Is it real ## Is it possible that the imprint says something else? I'm not finding anything that comes up under "Mb63". I have been prescribed 10/500 mg of hydrocodone now for about 6 months, 1 tablet a day at bedtime for degenerative disk disease and a herniation at L5, at my check up today with my primary care provider who is also the prescriber, I asked for an increase to 2 tablets a day, he didn't seem to have much of a problem with it except he asked me when was the last time I took one I told him last night, then he asked me for a urine sample!!! white and speckled...hydrocodone 5/325 watson 3202....are the inactive ingredients sulfa based? ## Do you have a sulfa allergy? If so, you should make the pharmacy aware of it, when you get a prescription filled and they will check it to make sure it's safe for you to take. Learn more Vicodin details here. I haven't been able to find a listing of the inactive ingredients for this medication, but generally, they have to be substances that are considered to be safe, so sulfa substances wouldn't usually be approved for use, since it cause such severe allergies in some people. However, your pharmacy should also have a complete ingredients list that you can look over.

I Found a blottle that read HYDROCODOE/APAP ELX PMA I was just curious as to how strong it was, it's yellow..If that matters any. ## I'm thinking the "ELX" probably stands for Elixir, which is liquid. And from what I could gather, Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen Oral Solutions come in dosages of: 7.5 mg/500 mg per 15 mL. If I was to take 25 of the hydrocodone 500/5 and 37 of the acetometophine with cosine 300/30 would it lead to a quick death? ## NO! You might very well live but be crippled in a coma or brain dead but still be aware of being alive and not able to do anything to change your circumstances EVER in any way. Nothing could be more painful! If you don't like where you are in your life change your circumstances while you are still able to do so! ## Please call a suicide hotline, a pastor, a good friend. Presenting proof of your prescription prior to the tests will be enough to get you by. To answer your question though, it really depends on how much, how long and how often you were taking it. Most pharmacists consider that after 3-5 "half-lives," close to 90% of the drug has been eliminated and is no longer affecting the body. It is a tiny round white pill that is scored on one side and a script v on the reverse with the numbers 46 05 ## I usually have no trouble identifying pills, but this one has had me stumped for quite a while now. The only match I can find that comes remotely close to your description is Hydrocodone 7.5mg + Acetaminophen 325mg; which has the marking V 36 05, but is different in color than what you mentioned. May I ask where you got these pills from?
