Hydrocodone Problem Getting In Alot Of States

I have read so many people posting that they can't get their pain meds. What is scary is people who are in chronic pain, are now in danger of withdrawal. My roommate has had her 5/325 on backorder for 3 week's now
We're in Vegas, I to take pain meds and last month I went to Walgreen's like normal and they were out of my meds, to boot the pharmacist treated me in such rude behavior. I see my doctor tomorrow and I'm scared of having a problem finding my meds, but since reading and listing I back up on mine and have been biting the bullet in pain. I have even heard through a friend that they will hit the streets for meds. This is scary cause it's going to effect the world. One thing is DEA hasn't done their jobs, they need to hit the streets.

Hello, Lynn! How are you and your roommate? I'm very sorry that you've both had such difficulties.

It is very common for shortages to occur towards the end of the year, due to mandatory manufacturing limits. They apply to all controlled substances and once a manufacturer reaches their allotted limit for the year, they cannot manufacturer any new product, until the new year. Information on these limits being set can be found on the DEA Diversion website.

Inevitable, though, these limits result in demand exceeding supply and this results in shortages for the last few months of the year.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The best suggestion I can make is to ask your pharmacist what they do have in stock and then see if your doctor is willing to prescribe that in the meantime.
