Hydrocodone For Ra Relief

Wife has RA and has tried many different NSAIDs to relieve pain and reduce swelling. We don't want to take the standard RA Meds as the side effects are bad as well.
Due to intense pain a few nights ago, I let her use some of my hydrocodone with acetaminophen and woke up feeling better than she had in months.
What part of the drug is responsible for reducing the inflammation and then the pain to allow her to use her hands and walk.

Are there other options we should look at for her pain/inflammation? Many of the NSAIDs haven't worked effectively for her.

It could be that this is a good medication for her and she may need to ask her doctor about trying it.

Was it the combination with Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen?

It does take opiates to help some people that have RA.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
