Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 7.5 -- 325 After Stitches

We are on vacation in Australia. My daughter cut her finger badly and received stitches at a local 24 hour clinic. No pain meds were prescribed for her. She is having tremendous pain; I have given her paracetamol according to the instructions today, but it's not enough. I have some hydrocodone acetaminophen 7.5 - 325 for knee pain I have. Any recommendation about giving her one of my pills to help her sleep tonight, or maybe even half a pill? I have emailed the clinic for directions but they will take 24+ hours to get back to me and she'd like to use one tonight.

Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic analgesic, and should only be taken by the person for whom it was prescribed.

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

As the other poster said, your daughter's age, weight, and other medications she's taking all play a role.

For example, you already gave her Paracetamol, which also contains Acetaminophen, so depending on the dosage you gave her of that, it may not be safe to give her any more Acetaminophen.

How old is she? What was the dosage of the Paracetamol you gave her?

It's according to how old your daughter is. If she's an adult one will not hurt her for pain because that's what they prescribe me when they pulled my tooth. They are mild pain meds so 1 every 6-8 hours is how mine were prescribed.. sorry your daughter was hurt, hope this helps..
