Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 Tb Double The Dose?

I recently went to the dentist because I've been having severe tooth pain causing a pain to shoot up from my tooth to my head. The dentist said I had an infection due to my wisdom teeth being taken out and it caused the tooth to move and caused bacteria to go in. My question is, he prescribed me the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-325 TB to be taken every 6 hours for pain along with Amoxicillin for the infection. Can I take 2 doses of the Hydrocodone because one is not cutting it?

Hello, Kammy! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain.

But no, you shouldn't take more of it than has been prescribed for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and, if you aren't tolerant to it, you could overdose. Additionally, you have to be very careful about how much Acetaminophen you ingest each day, too much of it carries the risk of being toxic.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

How long have you been taking the Amoxicillin? Once it starts working, usually at around 3 days in, the pain should start to ease.

This antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
