Hydrocodone, Percocets

Im wondering why I would be able to take darvacett & percocetts but I cant take vicodin. Arent theese medications all the same? Would the fact that I have a codeine allergy make a difference? Thanks.

They are all opiate medications, but not all the same.

Darvocet, which is no longer available contained Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene, Percocet contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, while Vicodin contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen.

What problem do you experience, when you take Vicodin?

Some work better for some people than others and some do cause more or worse side effects in some people, it really just depends on your body chemistry. That's why there are usually several options available in any given therapeutic category.

The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
