Hydrocodone Apap Severe Itching

Does anyone experience itching of the throat when taking this medication. Just my throat itches, I do not have an itching sensation anywhere else. Nor do I have a rash or hives. I am prescribed 2 5/325 pills every 4-6 hours for pain caused by ovarian cysts. I have taken this medication in the past without any issues. Is it
possible that I have developed an allergy to codeine?

Have you consulted your doctor?

It contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, not Codeine.

However, if that is the only symptom you're having, it doesn't sound like an allergy, but you should contact your doctor to be sure.

This is a generic medication, the name brand is actually Vicodin, or Norco, so you might be taking one made by a different manufacturer, than you did previously. Thus, there may be different inactive ingredients and your throat may be being irritated by one of those.
