Hydrocodone Apap 5 325mg How Many Mgs Is Safe For Severe Pain

I just had knee surgery may 3rd.I had Hydromorphone and ran out and because of the slow healing process that i am experencing,My Doc gave me hydrocodone 5/325's.He said to take 1-2 every for pain,but it doesn't seem to be working.Should I wait a while longer to see if it does.I DON'T want to take very high does of acedaminophin because of liver damage.

You can take Ibprofin with this.

You are correct to worry about taking too much of the Acetaminophen, not only does it risk liver damage, but it can be toxic if you take too much of it in a day.

At doses over 4grams/4,000mgs, it can be toxic and put you in life-threatening danger.

Because of this, I'd suggest talking to your doctor, before adjusting the amount you are taking.

yes.. but a healthier way to take ibuprofen of advil. would be to ask your doctor for hydrocodone bitrate ibuprofen. they come in dose levels starting at 2.5/200 5/200 7.5/200 and 10/200 it would be important to get this medication for the reason that if your taking a 5/325 norco/vicodin you dont want to take that tylenol and ibuprofen. this is proven to be a healthier combination for your liver than tylenol.

Just recently saw a new pain management doctor. He reduced my hydrocodone from 10/325 a day (5 per day) to 3 per day. He insisted I ween off clonazepam which I've been taking for 16yrs or he would not prescribe the hydrocodone. He acted like he was going to make me stop over the counter Claritin D. Every time I've tried stopping Claritin D I've gone into bacterial pneumonia. I have a feeling he is going to insist I stop it OR he won't write me the pain medication. Is it common for PM doctors to stop a patient from taking an over the counter medication? I'm really afraid I'm going to end up back in the hospital with pneumonia if this happens. Any thoughts appreciated. Bty...none of the other allergy medications work. I've tried them all.
