My pharmacy changed my meds from the yellow 10-325 v 3601 norco to the 10-325 white m367 mallinckrodt. I've been taking the yellows for years with no problems. Today I started the whites and feeling dizzy, a little weak, kind of panicky. What is different about the two meds that would cause this?

The companies can have up to a 20% difference in the amout of drug in each pill so some lots can have 10mg and some lots less.

I'm taking oxycodone and I'd like to get someone's opinion about what works best for them...? Oxycodone...or Hydrocodone..? The oxycodone I take doesn't seem to help me...? They have a V on one side & 48/10 on the other. I know the yellow hydro I used to get from the VA helped me the best but I asked my doctor to try the oxycodone...and it hasn't worked as well...and he doesn't want to switch me back to hydrocodone... I feel like I'm dieing I hurt so bad... please help.?

I have the same problem. Finally got my doctor to order the kind I need from Actavist Pharmaceuticals.
It is NOT the Hydrocodone. You are experiencing a severe allergy to the Inactive Ingredients.
Also, you need to tell your doctor about your symptoms, and ask him to write for Actavist brand Hydrocodone.

I know this is an old post but I was searching info on the generic norco made by Tris because it is new to me and has been causing severe stomach cramps. I've read that it is made in India. Anyway, I wanted to have the right information when I talk with my Pharmacist about the differences in the generics so I wanted to be able to give her legitimate source of information because I know she is going to say "you can't believe everything you read on the internet." But I have been taking Norco for 15 yrs so I have had many generics and they are definitely different. I was wondering how you've obtained your knowledge about the 40% difference. The other person talked about a 20% difference obtained infor from a manufacturing rep.

Supposedly the Oxy is stronger and most desirable, but for some reason it didn't work for me either. It made me sort of tired and sleepy, the hydro gives me a little boost. I read somewhere (did a search on it) that some people do not have an enzyme to process it. I changed back to the hydrocodone.

Trudy, Prescriptions generics have ot contain a certain amount of active ingredients. If your prescription is for Hyrocodone 10. It has to contain 8-12 mg of Hydrocodone. Fillers and binders can affect how a drug is absorbed in your system. Some people have mild reactions to the fillers and binders.

Same here! I called Watson + Actavis (Teva) & Amneal. I have to send Amneal a sample, etc. Also check out the new digital pill- FDA approved, on 1/12/2018, Dr. Oz show, Google it & watch the video!! Wow!?

If you have Medicaid. It has to do with the drugs that cost Medicaid the least. Medicaid negotiates for the lowest prices from drug companies.

Qualitest is a generic. Just like Amneal. Brand medications are so expensive Insurance companies will not pay for them unless there is no generic. Or the doctor has written on the prescription it has to be filled with Brand Name. Prior Authorizations are usually required for Brand Name medications. Which means more paper work for the doctor.Patients that pay cash cannot afford Brand Name medications.

if you got oxy instead of hydro I wouldn't say anything and just be happy. hydrocodone would be the Norco, Oxycodone would be Percocet. Percocet is noticeably stronger.

I switched to Kroger pharmacy with mallincrodt brand, it's ok but not a quality generic, it doesn't give me the bad side effects like amneal did,but I have also cut back on amount per day. I am having a intermittent pain in my stomach,I have a complete physical soon, it's not my colon! Hope everyone is doing well!!

I've only ever had Watson but in all the different generic brands of other meds I have never noticed a difference. Sometimes I wonder if people just think it's acting differently. I know generics can vary, ever so slightly, in the amount of the drug that it may actually contain but hydrocodone is hydrocodone and acetaminophen is acetaminophen.

I hear now from a pharmacist that the reason only one or two pharmacies are carrying one or two pain med brands is the result of the hurricane in the Islands, where a good part of these pain meds have been made in the past...........and so, the companies that haven't been using those companies in the islands, but get their meds somewhere else still have plenty of the meds to sell.

Norco is the brand name and the ones we get are the generic of Norco..........so they are coming from different companies..........the yellow Norcos are Parr Pharmaceutical and there are others that supply too but they are not yellow ..........the white ones are supplied by a different generic company for Norco than the yellow ones

Thank you for the info, I've skimmed through the Par website, will look more at it later. My doctor will write script for name brand but the (more than 5) pharmacies refuse to fill it with anything except malincrap. I'm contacting Par Pharm and will ask questions about availability, etc. Ideas?

Just do what I did ............call pharmacies in your area and ask if they use Norco yellow pills to fill prescriptions ..........that's how I found the yellow Norco again when the pharmacy I was using began to carry another name
