Hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10/325 By Mallinckrodt (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

My pharmacy changed my meds from the yellow 10-325 v 3601 norco to the 10-325 white m367 mallinckrodt. I've been taking the yellows for years with no problems. Today I started the whites and feeling dizzy, a little weak, kind of panicky. What is different about the two meds that would cause this?

It is Amneal. I just found an empty capsule. Now I know why I'm riding such a roller coaster if I'm not getting the same dosage every day!!

Wow, empty capsules! See, someone on the inside is getting their hands on them, OR someone at the pharmacy. I used to get prescribed 30 mg. oxycodone years ago and one time after I picked up my rx. I thought it looked light so I counted them, 20 short!! The pharmacist took them! I called immediately and he never asked me anything, just told me to come right back up and he'd have them ready! SMDH, unbelievable! I could have called their corporate office and his ass would have been fired on the spot! It was a Walgreens! People, count your pills!

Hello Fellow Chronic Pain People-

My wife went from being active, hiking, yoga, Gung Fu & Tai Chi to having had chronic migraines (like hit with an axe, fall down puking kind), then got chronic crippling leg pain, then back surgery & post-surgical pain and chronic back pain (several fused vertebra), then lung surgery to remove a cyst causing pneumonia, with stabbing intercostal pain. Now basically an hour at the grocery store is a major outing, followed by 2-4 days of pain recovery. All our plans for retirement travel went down the toilet.

We avoid Chinese and India generics like they were poison because, well, they might as well be. My wife used to teach pharmacology, and I used to be very very good at in depth research. The FDA is understaffed and underfunded. They pay for "onsite foreign contractors" to inspect and review foreign drug manufacturers, and well, they can only do "so much". Even with those limitations, anyone can go online and read the FDA reports on drug makers and the warnings and such that are issued. When you see a drug maker repeatedly issued warning letters for over 6 months that the rusty roof is leaking into the equipment, and there is no soap in the toilet, that maker gets crossed off the list. When they are repeatedly warned of insufficient or incorrect ingredients, that's another off the lists. When none of the required records are available for review because "an employee took them home to work on them" ... well that's called fraud in this country.

only pain relief we have has been via vicodin aka hydrocodone/tylenol. We "used to get" TEVA vicodin. That went unavailable years ago.
Then Watson vicodin ( they were bought by TEVA) Then WATSON became unavailable - I am not sure why but it seems they got out of the market to avoid the multi-state opiod lawsuits :-(

For about the last 18 months we were able to get mallinckrodt hydrocodone/tylenol. Until now. Suddenly as of January/February 2020, all mallinckrodt hydrocodone/tylenol is backordered and unavailable.

I just found out Mallinckrodt is filing chapter 11 bankruptcy over the pending "opiod lawsuits".

Somehow the Gov't has decided that cutting off opiods to "save" a few hundred thousand abusers is more important than tens of millions of chronic pain sufferers.

So, good people, where does that leave all of us? Any ideas?

Am I legally allowed to fly to Canada or Mexico with a paper Rx and my Dr. standing by to take a call or fax and get a prescription filled, and legally bring it home?

Has anyone had any success with changing to Methadone?

God help us all

Re: shunka (# 164) Expand Referenced Message

I read recently about patients asking for 'authorized generic' scripts. But even if our docs write the script, who the hell will fill it?

Re: Maria (# 174) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for putting it out there so well, you covered it all. I guess the only thing we can do to change this bull is to stick together and raise hell. How else are we going to get noticed? Or, where to go from here? I'm exhausted most all of the time from the pain, but I'll do what I can. Write letters, make calls, ?? Maria, you'd make a great leader-I'm game! It's the only way to change things as you know.

Amneal was the worst for me! Pure garbage! I despise that drug company. I complained too. I complained at Walgreens and they went to another manufacturer. Amneal is a crap company based in India where there is no regulation. Makes me sick!! This medicine from Amneal is s***!!

Please don't worry about it. You have ever right to be upset, I understand. There have been many people like you posting recently. It is a shame and none of you should have to suffer.

I'm glad you found a place to fill it, though.

Are there any other questions or concerns?

If a brand has 10 mg of an active ingredient, the generic can have 8 mg-12 mg of the active ingredient.

I don't know, but I think what it amounts to is that your doctor is actually prescribing Hydrocodone.

I would look up the formulary for this item, and even talk to your pharmacist.

My daughter works in pharmaceuticals and when I told her that Mallenkrdt did not work at all, she said that they all have a range... I never could tell that I had taken anything when I took them. She also said that the inert ingredients could have an effect on how they worked.

I have noticed this too. I dont like it. I was on Qualitest for years and that worked the best. I dont like having my pain medicine messed with. This stinks.

Stay away from the Amneal. Their 10/325 is horrible and causes side affects.

What is up with this brand Mallincrodt Hydrocodone 10/325? It does nothing for my pain! I have been taking this medication for 5 years, and in the last year or so it's been hit or miss (but mostly miss). This seems to be the ONLY brand of this medication on the market these days. I know for a fact there cannot be much hydrocodone in these pills. I don't know what's going on but something is definitely up. Is someone at the warehouse switching out black market junk clones and taking the authentic stuff? They must think people are generally stupid. Someone needs to get them analyzed in a lab and do a write up and expose what is going on. I'd say at most these pills don't have more than 4 to 6 mgs. of hydrocodone in each pill, if that. I think I'd know after being on them for 5 yrs.

Re: Kaydollasign (# 88) Expand Referenced Message

I agree with you.....The company making Mallincrap must be giving pharmacies in Austin big price reductions because most of them in North Austin is carrying it now......I have to go up to Cedar Park to get Norco pain pills now.....I do say though that the CVS right near the Cedar Park line was carrying Lupin a month ago.....guess the salesman hasn’t hit it yet......they’re back to carrying Sun Pharnacy’s tablet, btw bu I switched to Norco because that tablet didn’t work well.......Norco yellow tablets work!!!

Re: RhoRhoRho (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

" But sadly, insurance will NOT pay for name brand drugs."

I contacted multiple pharmacies, mom and pop, you name it. Not one would let me purchase the name brand Norco or even another generic besides malcrap. I was told the only one they could give me was the malcrap. I'll pay the full price! Where do I get it? Now, we can't get our meds like we used to and have to settle for this substandard so-called med? we need to go to war....

Re: Lynn (# 91) Expand Referenced Message

They have DEFINITELY taken out more of the active ingredient and put in garbage!! I noticed 2 weeks ago the difference when I picked up my new script. I almost threw up when I took the first pill. SOMETHING is different!! Ive NEVER had that happened before. I am still nauseous and my appetite is gone and I have upset stomach!! I've been taking the Malinkrodt for awhile but this new batch made me sick!! If big pharm is trying to "control" the opioid epidemic by putting s****y ingredients in pain killers it needs to be called out!!

Where can I get a test kit!!

I agree with you 100%. !! I have been getting so many nasty side affects! Like you I only take 1 type of pain med so I know when things are different. Why are we not allowed to choose what brand medicine we can take? Who put this nasty decision in effect? Or is it just more crap from the people who are trying to control pain meds? Such bulls***!
