Hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10/325 By Mallinckrodt (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

My pharmacy changed my meds from the yellow 10-325 v 3601 norco to the 10-325 white m367 mallinckrodt. I've been taking the yellows for years with no problems. Today I started the whites and feeling dizzy, a little weak, kind of panicky. What is different about the two meds that would cause this?

Yes, I noticed the same thing. It may be the fillers and less pain medication

Re: RhoRhoRho (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Google Rhodes Pharma and see all the complaints of their inferior Oxycodone.
Rhodes Pharma has been accused of inferior Oxycodone for years. CVS has started carrying their brand and it DOES NOT WORK! I'm in misery.
I've been on Oxycodone for years and never experienced anything like this with any other brand of Oxycodone.
I've had 2 back surgeries and about to have surgery on my neck. I'm in a great deal of pain and now suffering from Rhodes inferior Oxycodone.
I'm calling CVS first thing and reporting them everywhere I can find, including the FDA.

I read recently about patients asking for 'authorized generic' scripts. But even if our docs write the script, who the hell will fill it?

Hello Fellow Chronic Pain People-

My wife went from being active, hiking, yoga, Gung Fu & Tai Chi to having had chronic migraines (like hit with an axe, fall down puking kind), then got chronic crippling leg pain, then back surgery & post-surgical pain and chronic back pain (several fused vertebra), then lung surgery to remove a cyst causing pneumonia, with stabbing intercostal pain. Now basically an hour at the grocery store is a major outing, followed by 2-4 days of pain recovery. All our plans for retirement travel went down the toilet.

We avoid Chinese and India generics like they were poison because, well, they might as well be. My wife used to teach pharmacology, and I used to be very very good at in depth research. The FDA is understaffed and underfunded. They pay for "onsite foreign contractors" to inspect and review foreign drug manufacturers, and well, they can only do "so much". Even with those limitations, anyone can go online and read the FDA reports on drug makers and the warnings and such that are issued. When you see a drug maker repeatedly issued warning letters for over 6 months that the rusty roof is leaking into the equipment, and there is no soap in the toilet, that maker gets crossed off the list. When they are repeatedly warned of insufficient or incorrect ingredients, that's another off the lists. When none of the required records are available for review because "an employee took them home to work on them" ... well that's called fraud in this country.

only pain relief we have has been via vicodin aka hydrocodone/tylenol. We "used to get" TEVA vicodin. That went unavailable years ago.
Then Watson vicodin ( they were bought by TEVA) Then WATSON became unavailable - I am not sure why but it seems they got out of the market to avoid the multi-state opiod lawsuits :-(

For about the last 18 months we were able to get mallinckrodt hydrocodone/tylenol. Until now. Suddenly as of January/February 2020, all mallinckrodt hydrocodone/tylenol is backordered and unavailable.

I just found out Mallinckrodt is filing chapter 11 bankruptcy over the pending "opiod lawsuits".

Somehow the Gov't has decided that cutting off opiods to "save" a few hundred thousand abusers is more important than tens of millions of chronic pain sufferers.

So, good people, where does that leave all of us? Any ideas?

Am I legally allowed to fly to Canada or Mexico with a paper Rx and my Dr. standing by to take a call or fax and get a prescription filled, and legally bring it home?

Has anyone had any success with changing to Methadone?

God help us all

Re: RhoRhoRho (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

And we can probably all guess that the lobbyists and politicians in Washington D.C. are getting HUGE kickbacks from these drug companies to allow them to keep short changing people on their medications. I take an antidepressant and I truly believe the generics are nowhere near as effective as the original mfr. of them. I cannot for the life of me figure out WHY they are getting away with this and HOW? Our government is short changing us and gambling with our lives and NO one gives one you know what. It's all about money and corruption these days and this is why politicians are living high on the hog up in their mansions on the hill. We all pay taxes that go to cover the wages and the running of places like the FDA and the CDC but they are not doing their jobs, no one cares that these generic drugs are worthless, they're letting the manufacturers of them get away with anything.

Re: w John (# 158) Expand Referenced Message

I am willing to give my pills up for analyzing purposes, they're not doing me any good. I think they're putting in 1 mg. instead of 10, this is my guess. It's either this or someone is switching the legit ones out for blanks that someone on the black market is manufacturing. We do not know what kind of supply chain takes place, it could be happening right in house where they're made, could be at the postal service/shipping service, drivers of the trucks, pilots of the planes, there's a whole chain of command that takes place where this could happen. It could also be happening through the pharmacy, the government could be making pharmacists give out these blank sugar pills. Also it could be the mfr. themselves in fear of overdoses so they're shorting the mgs. drastically in fear of lawsuits. I understand that the makers of Oxycontin were sued for lying about them not being addictive but WHAT the heck is the reason for states suing the makers of hydrocodone?? I've read where Mallinckrodt is getting sued too in the wake of this fake opioid crisis, on WHAT grounds?? They did NOT lie and say hydrocodone was not addictive, this is just a farking case of the crooked politicians jumping on the lawsuit bandwagon. NO one dies anymore from just opiates, it was abusers who were taking them with xanax, sleeping pills, and muscle relaxers and there were plenty of doctors prescribing these crazy dangerous cocktails too but this was 7 - 8 years ago or longer. The problem is there's still people dying from heroin and they group this in with legit opiates.

I wonder of all of the "events" that were attributed to hydrocodone how many were attributed to people with valid prescriptions?

Re: lisa (# 147) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Lisa, it was Amneal and it was crap! I had my doctor switch me back to the Hydrocodone but it too is crap. The Mallickrodt are blanks, there's nothing in them. My doctor told me the Oxycodone was stronger so it should work better, so I went from 10 mg. Hydro to 7.5 Oxycodone well it did nothing for my pain. Went back for my next appt. and they upped it to 10 of the Oxy. well again, nothing, felt like taking a sugar pill. They should have worked much better but they did nothing. Last mo. was the first time in a year that my Hydrocodone seemed legit and actually helped my pain so I thought, great, they've finally gotten the junk off the market. Just got my new script and back to the junk, nothing in them. I was so still and hurting so bad this morning that I took 2, nothing, took 3 more, nothing and took 4 more, NOTHING. That's almost 10 pills and NOTHING. How in the heck are they getting away with this? If these pills were legit with 10 mgs. of medication in them I wouldn't be sitting here still in pain, no, I'd be in a coma. I am done with this crap, I just as soon take nothing and suffer anymore instead of keep trying to these blank sugar pills that do nothing. My daughter just had to go to the ER over the weekend for an absessed tooth and they gave her 6 of the 5 mg. to take home because it was in the middle of the night, she took 4 and they still did nothing, she was in the worst pain of her life and got no relief. The ER gave her a script for 8 of the 5 mg., she ended up having to take a total of 6 within and hour and still NOTHING. She has never taken a narcotic in her life before this so it's not about tolerance this is about people in pain being fleeced by these crooked companies and our government NOT doing ONE damn thing to stop it. I've recently had 4 MRI's and 3 Sonograms and I go back to the neurologist on Weds. to find out the results of them, all due to ringing in the ears and I truly believe it's from these junk pills. They have damaged my body and my life and I will not sit by any longer and do nothing, they will pay for this through a lawsuit that I will WIN. Game OVER, MALLINCKRODT.

One just cannot leave with their pain medication without verifying it first. Once you leave the store you are screwed. They can come up with many excuses on why you are trying to screw them and just get more pills.

Re: madashell (# 150) Expand Referenced Message
“What will we do with the results”? THAT is the real question. There is no monitoring of the manufacture of any opioids as far as I can tell. The old 1984 Hatch Act that allows manufacturers to only put in 80% of the active ingredient is obsolete but no one cares about holding the manufacturers feet to the fire. With today’s precise equipment there is no need to put in less of the active ingredient but they still do it. My guess is they probably put in less of the active ingredient but no one is testing the pills so the manufacturers can get away with whatever they want to. If they are caught they say “I’m sorry” and maybe pay a small fine. We used to say “it is a easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to get permission”. No one is willing to test any of their pills because they would rather take them and take their chances or they will not pay (or cannot afford) to have them analyzed. That leaves us where we are now. No one will (or can) do anything except whine as far as chronic pain patients are concerned. We KNOW that the manufacturers are cheating us intentionally but no one will even attempt to hold anyone’s feet to the fire. Ever. We are stuck where we are because of many factors.

St. John’s pharmacy on 20th (or 21st) and Santa Monica or Broadway in Santa Monica used to fill everything without a problem. They’re on the northwest corner of the office building to the left of St. John’s. Sorry I don’t remember the address but they used to be good. Worth a try.

Re: madashell (# 148) Expand Referenced Message

Please be advised that if you leave the counter or the store BEFORE counting your pills you will probably be all done as far as getting a refund or replacement pills. Of course the thought behind this is that you must be a drug addict and went outside and removed 20 pills and went back inside to get more pills. Chronic pain patients are, as far as most people are concerned, liars and addicted. This thought process precludes the Pharmacy employees from EVER taking your word for it. If you need to hold up the "line" then do so. Count your pills before you leave or you will be done.

A company called LabMax is one that tests, I think. They offer a semi-quantitative test which allows you to estimate the amount of the active ingredient in the sample. It contains everything you need, instruction and color codes. I'll continue to look for other sites that test.

Re: Ty Dollar Sign (# 140) Expand Referenced Message

I have found an analyzing kit available online. I don't know if I can put it here on this site, but as soon as I find it, I'll post it here. Bear with me all, as I've misplaced the website, deleted history, etc. But this appeared to be a kit you could purchase to test what was in a pill. Will that help us? When we find out what's in it, what will we do with the results? I'm hurrying....
