Hydrochlorothiazide And Triamterene By Sandoz Pharmaceuticals
(Newest replies first)

My aunt has been taking the Sandoz Pharmaceutical, hydrochlorothiazide and triamterene for 13 yrs. The GG606, now the pharmacy is saying they can't get that one anymore that they have a new one by a different company that is the same. She has tried to take this, but it gives her a terrible heachache, where the other one didn't. Is there any pharmacy that still carries this medication by Sandoz Pharmaceutical?

I have stopped taking all pharmaceuticals
I would rather take homeopathic. Much safer
and predictable! The new medicines FDA is approving is causing all kinds of reactions and pain, and they then refuse to take responsability for it or rectify the damage it has done! Why would anyone walk back in to that? They shoud be outlawed if these things are proven to be their fault!
I have only taken two days of Triamterene (37.5mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (25mg), but it has left me dehydrated. Can I stop it cold turkey?
Hello. My doctor prescribed me hydrochlorothiazide & triamterene 25-50mg for edema. I was wondering if it was discontinued? My pharmacist said he thinks it was and couldn't check until next week.
These pharmacies don't care about anything except their bottom line. I am having the same problem getting Metformin by the brand that works best for me. The inferior brands have damaged my health. I would file a grievance with your insurance company, that's what I have done. I also filed a complaint with the FDA, but I doubt they care. Why would they allow drugs which have legal suits against them to continue to be dispensed?
My pharmacy could not fill my RX forTriamterene/Hctz. They stated the company could not get the ingrediant triamterene in order to produce the capsules. What's going on and when will this problem be resolved???? I have not been able to fill my RX since Feb. 2011.
Unfortunately, there is a shortage of the Triamterene and Sandoz is one of the companies affected, so it isn't currently available anywhere.
There can be fluctuations in the active ingredients of generic medications, this may be causing changes in her blood pressure, which could cause the headaches.
Has she talked to her doctor about this, yet?
She may require a dosage adjustment or switch to a different medication. It's also very important that her doctor determine if this is affecting her blood pressure, because if it is, that could put her in danger.
A similar medication available is called Aldactazide, it contains Spironolactone with Hydrochlorothiazide.
