i suffer from diverticular and have taken mebeverine for many years doesnt always reieve pain can you suggest anything for me to get a bit of relief

The following information comes from Medical News Today:

"Lack of dietary fiber is thought to be the main cause of diverticula (pouches protruding outwards from the colon). Fiber helps our stools remain soft. If you do not consume enough dietary fiber and the stool is hard there may be more pressure or strain on the colon as muscles push the stool down - this pressure causes diverticula to occur. Diverticula occur when weak spots in the outside layer of colon muscle give way because stuff in the inner layer has managed to squeeze through."

On a side note, have you considered looking into any natural remedies, such as essential oils for diverticulitis?
I do believe they can really help ease discomfort and bring down inflammation within the intestines. They can also be beneficial if there is an infection where the pain is. A few that I would consider to be helpful in this regard, are: Peppermint oil, Chamomile oil, Rosemary oil, and Clove oil; although there are many more options than this. If you have a local natural health food store or co-op that you can shop at, they usually carry essential oils and are educated in which ones may be most helpful for whatever the condition is. Personally I prefer doterra oils due to their potency and smell, but there are many other great brands out there which are 100% pure therapeutic grade oils!
