Husband Changed

I began taking zoloft after my second child was born. My husband also started taking it to calm him down because we were both having some mood swings and arguing a good bit since we now had 2 little ones in the house. We've been on it for about 10 months or so. We both started on 50 mg but a few months ago went to 100 mg. I noticed myself really not caring if my house was even cleaned anymore. I cut back and started taking 50 mg again. My husband has also changed. He also doesn't want to get off the couch some days and doesn't care how the house looks and we've been arguing about it. Since I've gone down to 50 mg, I've been feeling kind of paranoid that he doesn't feel the same about me and that he doesn't care anymore. He said he thinks he needs to get off of the zoloft because he doesn't have any emotions anymore. Seems like this is a double edged sword.

Hello, Lacey! How are you and your husband doing?

These medications can sometimes cause those types of effects in some people that take them and usually, it means you need to consult your doctor and try a different medication. Thus, I agree with your husband, but in regards to both of you. Your being paranoid is going to cause a rift in your relationship, if you allow it to continue.

Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.

No medication is worth damaging your marriage, especially when they are so many others available that you can try.

Can you please post back and let me know how you're doing?
