I have been on Humira for about a year and a half. It has been very good for me. I noticed right from the beginning that I had a lot of swelling in my body but mostly in my feet and lower legs. About 7-9 lbs in the week of my injection. I decided that I could handle it and it was much better than the Psoriatic Arthritis AND my skin cleared about 95%. I have always had a lot of sinus and ear infections so I have to take antibiotics for a lot longer now when I get one and sometimes I have to stop the injections until it clears up. This past month or 2 I am noticing very easy bruising. Does this make sense or ring true for anyone else? ## Hello, Aka! How are you doing? Yes, all of these symptoms make sense. They are all listed under the possible side effects of Humira, as listed by the FDA...

## how long does Humira stay good if kept under refrigeration ? ## The tablet with the R 027 marking is manufactured by Actavis Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 0.25mgs of Alprazolam, which is a generic for Xanax. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability. Nick, is there any expiration on it? It is best not to use it past the listed date.

My 10 year old little girl has been on humira for 2 years , injected every 2weeks , her health ( joints ) are fantastic but now I have concerning issues on a huge amount of weight gain , my daughter is active (probably over active ! ) diet is balanced , a huge worry is we haven't seen a consultant in over 18 months , obviously due to an over stretched NHS . Now the issue is what she looks like , and my fear of other ailments and mental issues occurring, surely there is some other alternative , in our day and age ! I have researched and weight gain is a definite side effect in many users . She was diagnosed almost 5 years ago and has been on other meds such as methotrexate, and infliximab , these may I point out had no weight gaining affects, I'm a single mum whom is very concern...

Hi, My husband needs Humira. We now have Medicare part G. on a very limited income. What do I do to get financial assistance? ## The manufacturer does have a program that may help those with Medicare who still cannot afford this medication. You can call them to see if your husband qualifies, the number is 800-448-6472. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, headache, signs of infection, neck stiffness, and seizure. Is there anything else I can help with? ## thank you I have been in contact but, they are requiring info I have to gather...guess I was looking for inside tips to deal with them...appreciate your help ## Low cost official Humira is available. Stop being taken advantage of with inflated prices. You can ask your doctor or pharmacist for more inf...

Are humira samples available whose shelf life has expired, and is it okay to administer them? ## do you think they are safe to take after they have expired? The fact that the first direction is "check and make sure the medication hasn't expired" just kinda scares me. ## What is the life expectancy of the drug Humira if kept under proper conditions? How many years is it good for? ## i have been taking expired humira. please tell me if this is safe? it has always been refrigerated and med is clear. ## I have a pre loaded Humira vial that is expired by 2 years. It is clear with no flakes and has always been refrigerated. Can I use it? I'm having a major flare up.

I have been on Humira for some time now. Lately I have been getting blood blisters' under my skin, just as I was typing I happened to look at my wrists and noticed a blister, I honestly do not know if this means another blister is going to take place. These blood blisters' at present are on my wrist's, there is no itch although I just used my Humira 2 days ago and today I am not feeling at my best so I'm not sure what is going on. If anyone else has received these blisters' and have perhaps gotten an answer from your Physician or Dermatologist. I hope someone is able to assist me. I am not on any Blood Thinners' such as Cumidine or anything such as this. Thanks so much, ## Hello, Rita! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem you're experiencin...

Hi On my last cycle of Ivf I had 4 lots of humira (one injection every two weeks for two months only) this is what gave me my little boy as my immune system used to prevent me carrying children. When I was given humira I didn't question it or do any research or anything I wanted a child that much I was prepared to do or take anything the doctor said! However I am wanting to do Ivf again but now I have my little boy I'm scared to death to take humira with everything I have read :( is it still risky if I'm only taking it for 2 months? All different types of cancer run in both sides of my immediate family and I have cancer anxiety also :( but I really want another baby too :( is it only a risk if your on it long term?

I only received 2 injections of humira and had horrible loss of body water (peeing constantly). Two weeks later I ended up with a severe kidney infection. I will never get another shot, but I'm experiencing swelling in my legs and want to know if all the side effects will soon go away? I am sticking back with my remicade!

I've been on Humira for about 5 months now to treat my severe plaque psoriasis and arthritis. When I first went to the doctor I had 25% body coverage of psoriasis and arthritis so bad i could hardly walk. Now I'm almost completely psoriasis free... about 95% free now and my arthritis is like it never existed... I am back to walking and jogging even. I just wanted to leave a positive comment because I know so many people that have a negative experience will leave comments but few having a positive experience do. I almost didn't take the Humira because of the negative reviews and am so....so...glad I did because it has really helped me with this horrible disease... ## Awesome!!! I'm so glad that it's helped you so much! And you're right, most posts are about compla...

Hi! So I'm 25 and I've had RA since I was 6. I'm seeing fantastic improvement in my joint with only two injections. I have been having a ton of side effects, I'm getting horrible muscle cramps to the point I had to go to the ER. The latest thing is my latest period. It's horribly painful and it's excessively heavy (not to get too graphic) is this normal or something to be concerned about? I've tried just about everything for my RA and this is the first relief I've ever had but the cramps and the muscle pains are horrible. ## Hello, Monica! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you're having. Yes, Humira can cause those types of issues as side effects. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, diarrhea, sinusitis and rash. I've been using Humira since 27 Aug 2015. Changed my life completely .... Felt so much better, but now my face / glands / whole body seems to swollen all the time (especially my face and neck area) .... I started smoking 2 months ago .... Can that have an effect on the swelling ? ## Yes, the NIH does list that as being a possible side effect of Humira. It may also cause headache, fainting, and chest pain. It would be best to have it checked it out to be sure, though. Are you on any other medications? ## Hi Yes, I am on 6 x Methotrexate per week, 1 x Coxflam per day, 1 x Prednisone per day, 1 x Calceferol per week and 2 x Folic Acids per day (except for the day that I take the methotrexate) I also use Tramacet for the days that I have more pain ....

I will be starting humira this week and very nervous. I have severe psoriasis. I have tried everything since the age of 12. I am now 44. It took a lot to get approved and now its here. What should i expect. I have never had a allergic reaction to anything, so I'm not worried to much about that, but I have been reading all the posts and now I'm nervous. If I could get any experience or advice I would appreciate it. ## Hello, Tricia! How are you? Have you started the Humira, yet? If so, how did it go? Please anyone who can help me out with information I would appreciate. I am in need of Humira but I can't afford it. ## Jenifer, sorry to hear about your challenges. Out of curiosity do you currently have insurance? Either way my recommendation is to get in touch with the manufacturer AbbVie since they appear to offer a patient assistance program for Humira. Here are some links to what they offer: AbbVie Patient Assistance Foundation: PDF application for Humira Assistance: Humira Savings Card: I hope all of this info helps and wish you the best with everything! ## Hi. How did you make out? Were you able to get assistance from AbbVie? JD ## I'm on medicaid and was denied twice, but my dermatologist really went to bat for me and finally was approved. So far I've had 5 humira injections (40 mg every two weeks) and unfortunately my great fatigue, aches and pains in bones and muscles in the meantime only increased. Have been on methotrexate, which only somewhat reduced my wrist swelling, ever since February. The combination now seems to be doing even less. Any similar experiences or suggestions? Thanks Sunad ## My best friend just had her right lung removed following a diagnosis of non-small cell cancer. She was prescribed Humira for her Crohn's Disease. When she was diagnosed, her Oncologist had her discontinue Humira IMMEDIATELY. I hope you can find another treatment. Lymphoma is one of the side effects of this drug. We are lucky she is alive. Best of luck. ## Humira contains the active ingredient Adalimumab and extremity pai...

Our son age 28 has sufffered from IBD most of his life. He has now been using Humira 40 mg every other week for over two months with no apparent benefit. In fact he gets worse after every injection. ( Fatigue, Malaise, Nausea, cramping, diarrhea, joint pains and RA type symptoms.) It seems that it gets worse with each injection. Labs no show that he has yet to reach therapeutic levels of Humira. Therefore the Dr has ordered an increase to once every week. He has great trepidation about follow this course. The questions are, How long should one reasonably have to wait to see some benefits. Do many patients have this level adverse reactions to Humira. We have been reading about deafness, migraines, and many other serious lang term effects. My husband has been on Humira for about 2 years for ulcerative colitis. Works great to control that, but now he's starting to break out with sores and has had Mesa type sores that had to be surgically removed. I'm really worried about this. Has anyone else experienced these kinds of problems? Thanks ## Hello, Melissa! How is your husband doing? Has there been any change? The FDA does warn that Humira can increase the risk of infection, as well as cause other side effects, such as nausea, administration site irritation, some forms of carcinoma and back pain. Before I started taking Humira I read so many messages about issues with the drug. I suspect the people who are unhappy are far more likely to post comments than those who are happy. I'm going to reverse that trend. 66 y/o diagnosed with UC in September 2013. Initial therapy with Lialda was very effective. A year later following a flare I was prescribed Uceris to get back into remission. It too was effective. Yet another year later and another flare neither of these drugs did the job. Tried Rowasa to no avail and started a Prednisone taper. My doctor suggested Humira and I resisted strongly having read all of the negative blogs. Finally I threw in the towel and said let's do it....I was miserable. Less then two weeks into therapy after the first four injections and I am 90% to r...

Have been using Humira now for 6 months and pain has been non existent for that time but for the last 6 weeks have chronic back ache and neck pain again. I suffer with psoriatic arthritis in the back and neck, I can't see my Rheumatologist until 16th May and taking strong pain killers is making me tired. I saw an advert for a pain relief pen on a website and wondered whether I could use that in conjunction with Humira the fact that it is drug free is very appealing to me
