Humira Is Good Stuff.... Don't Be Run Off By The Negative Blogs
UpdatedBefore I started taking Humira I read so many messages about issues with the drug. I suspect the people who are unhappy are far more likely to post comments than those who are happy. I'm going to reverse that trend. 66 y/o diagnosed with UC in September 2013. Initial therapy with Lialda was very effective. A year later following a flare I was prescribed Uceris to get back into remission. It too was effective. Yet another year later and another flare neither of these drugs did the job. Tried Rowasa to no avail and started a Prednisone taper. My doctor suggested Humira and I resisted strongly having read all of the negative blogs. Finally I threw in the towel and said let's do it....I was miserable. Less then two weeks into therapy after the first four injections and I am 90% to remission! Injections in the Belly were unpleasant but certainly tolerable.... No Big Deal. Two of the four bruised a bit but that was the only noticeable reaction. I credit the bruising to my lack of skills, next week's double injection will be in the thigh. At 66 I'm sure I have some arthritis. One of the nice side effects of Humira is that what little stiffness I had in my body is leaving. Helps the golf game. Interestingly, as I've talked to my friends about the drug I've learned that several of them have been on it for years (10+) for a variety of ailments.… All of them are extremely pleased. Humira has allowed them to retake control of their lives. Until something changes I will be a big supporter.

Awesome! Thank you for your helpful post and I am very glad that Humira is working so well for you.
You called it, I am always trying to explain to people that those that have a good experience with any given medication don't usually go hunt up a site like this, so you rarely see a post from someone that's had a good experience.
Some people do have bad experiences with it, such as joint aches, muscle cramps and headaches that linger for months, all of which are listed by the FDA as possible side effects.
How is your golf game going?
