Humira And Menstrating (Top voted first)

I have a question I'm having a pretty bad period pain and cramp wise and I was wondering if I should wait and take my Humira after it's over? Has anyone ever taking it while having a bad period and been ok? I have been on it for about eight months and have done fine this is just a painful menses so I'm concerned. Thank you for your input. I know my doctor will just say to take it so I'm coming to ask you all for your nonbiased opinion

I haven't come across any specific details stating that you can't take Humira during your period. However it is important to note that this medication can cause changes within your menstrual cycle; including but not limited to abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge as a potential side effect.

But if you seem to be doing fine on Humira without experiencing any major complications in previous cycles you've had, I wouldn't be too concerned about taking it during that time frame, given that you understand the potential side effects and how that may effect the outcome of things as well.

I was put on Humira. Three injections later, I had the period from hell and high blood pressure. I had to go to the ER because of severe haemorrhaging. Ended up having a hysterectomy. Maybe it had nothing to do with the humira, but it seems like too much of a coincidence. I've been on methotrexate for 12 years without any problems. Kept taking Humira and have had umpteen respiratory infections. I don't think my doctor knows enough about Humira - she keeps saying my respiratory problems are not connected to the Humira. She seems to be Googling for answers when I ask her about the potential side effects - and she treats me like I'm a hypochondriac even though I hardly ever take sick leave from work and do my best to lead a normal life. Going back to see my rheumatologist to discuss whether or not I should keep taking it.
