My 4 month old baby has diarrhea. The pediatrician has prescribed to take Erceflora 1 vial. What does that mean? Is this the whole vial at once?

Hi Maine, sorry to hear about that, I know how nerve wracking it can be when a child at that young of an age has diarrhea. To answer your question, each vial should be a 5ml suspension. If that is the case then I am seeing a standard dose of 1-2 vials every 3-4 hours mixed in with another liquid such as milk, formula, or water. If you are still breastfeeding your baby you can mix it in with expelled breast milk. So yeah, 1 whole vial per dose is what is indicated. Is that in line with the doctor's instructions? There should be a label, printout, or packaging that came with the prescription. All in all Erceflora is a probiotic medicine which should hopefully help to regulate baby's digestive system and alleviate the diarrhea by restoring the natural flora that reside in the intestines.
