The itchy rash could be the sign of a serious allergic reaction starting, which means that you should contact your doctor. This just might not be a safe antibiotic for you to take.

Hi I have been taking these tabs which I will from now on refer to as co-trimoxazole. Been taking 480mg once a day for the past 7 months. (Prophylaxis). Now the doc changed the dose to 960mg every other day and since this I have horrid heavy hanging blisters on my legs which are filled with clear orange(ish) liquid. They leak through the dressings and my skin feels so tight it actually makes me cry.

I was taking /sulfameth-trimethoprim-800-160 mg-side-effects-wewe low grade fever bone ache lethargy too the day after I stopped taking then I felt 90 percent better

I took sulfameth/tmp 800 for 4 1/2 days. I had nausea, loss of appetite, back ache, and then blood in my urine. I went to the emergency room, and when they took a U/A, it looked like red wine. The doctor told me to quit taking the drug cause he didn't see any infection which is why I was taking it in the first place. The blood in my urine stopped. Now 3 days later and I'm flushed over my entire body. My regular doctor says I should go to a urologist...that the drug can't cause this. Funny how the blood stopped and now I'm flushed all over.
