How Many Hydrcodone 5/325 Are Equal To Hydrocodone 7.5/750

I have had RA since I was nine. I've been on EVERY RA medication you can think of . I've had hips replaced and revised as well as knee replacements and spine surgery. It's been tough but I'm a fighter. There is such a stigma for pain meds and I do understand why, it's just some of us use these medications as a way to actually live a semi normal productive life, and NOT for a "high" Anyway because of such a stigma I'm trying to wean off some of my pain meds but it's hard. QUESTION:...I am usually given the 7.5/750 pills but a doctor on call for my rheumatologist this week gave me the 5/325. IS THERE A BIG DIFFERENCE? The 5/325 (he didn't feel right giving me what my real dr. generally prescribes me)pill is small, white, oval, has the number 126 on one side and just a line down the other side. They remind me of tictacs. Anyway, THEY DON'T SEEM TO HELP EVEN HALF AS MUCH AS THE 7.5/750. Please help me find the answer, I've been searching the web for hours! Thanks!

Hello, Lynn! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having.

The ones with higher doses of Acetaminophen in them are no longer available, actually. They have been removed from the market by request of the FDA due to the risks of overdose toxicity and organ damage that may occur with long term use.

And overall, with the amount of Hydrocodone also lowered by that doctor, you are taking a weaker medication.

Have you contacted the doctor, yet? They may approve it for you to add a Tylenol/Acetaminophen tablet to try to augment it a little more.
