How Many Usp Units Of Amylase Can I Safely Take With Each Meal
UpdatedFor many years I have had a problem digesting starch, especially if a starchy meal has been followed with a sweet dessert. There is usually a vile breath issue that lasts for days. I have started self administering amylase and it has helped, but am not sure how many pills I can pop before I possibly "overdose". Does anyone have information re what the maximum recommended USP units are for amylase per meal? I have capsules at the moment which have 75,000 USP units per tablet, and I sometimes take 2 at a time. Wondering whether this can be injurious at all.
Any help or advice here would be appreciated. Has anyone else out there experienced problems when mixing starch & sugar in the same meal?
eagerly awaiting some responses
