I've taken nine 500mg tablets of Alphamox (3 times a day for 3 days). I would like to know how long it will take for it to completely leave my system now that I have stopped taking it? This is because I need to take a new medication but can't until Alphamox is out of my system as it won't work with the Alphamox. (The new medication is Fluconazole 150mg).

Hi Jenna, according to this site's half life calculator a dose of Amoxicillin would be metabolized in about 17 hours. Keep in mind that this is just an estimate and does not factor in that you have taken multiple doses. I'd give it a full 24 hours to be safe, and I would also double check with the pharmacist since they could inform you of possible interactions after that period of time. Also, antibiotics can continue working in your body for some time after you have taken the last dose, although I cannot say whether that would have any effect on your new medication.
