How Long Does It Take For Miralax To Leave The Gut (Page 2)

My 8 yro son took miralax for 10 days for his constipation. He stopped taking it 2 days ago and is still having very loose bowel movements almost hourly. How long will this continue? I'm at my wits end, his bottom is getting very sore.

ONLY drink it if a Dr tells you! You are way too young to take it without Dr orders.

My unqualified, slowly at first start on Metamucil, eventually getting up to full doses, and drink lots of water water water.
Check with your Dr.

I was put on this to clean me out for a colonoscopy. I took 238 gr and nothing happened so i took another 238 gr two days later with 3.5 days of clear liquid diet.
I don't feel like myself, my energy level is down and I wonder how long till this is out of my system.

Mirilax issues; I didn't get feedback from my initial entry.
I worry about being too far from a bathroom because of this stuff. After a hemoroid repair I was told by the PA to take a full dose (capful) daily. Subsequent BM were not exactly loose, but soft, and I was having to go with very little warning and unable to hold it! After the PA didn't pay any mind to my concerns, I reduced the Miralax to 1 tsp & 1 tsp Metamucil daily. This just extends BM from about every other day to about 3-5 day, and I still have run to the bathroom desperately, as it is nearly impossible to hold it.
