Hello, Finlander! How are you?
There is really no time limit, some people need to take medications like this for the rest of their lives. It depends on whether or not it is helping you and your liver function remains normal.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and vision problems.
With the evaluations you said you're having every 6 months, your doctor is doing the right thing and being very conscientious about your care and safety.
Is this the only medication you're taking?
