I have been on this drug for the past 2 yrs. After being on various AF drugs, most only last 3-4 yrs. Also had 2 ablations. I am evaluated every 6 mos. liver, thyroid and x-rays of the chest. My very 1st drug for AF was Amiodarone, only lasted 2 yrs. I take 200ng a day. We have tried to cut down, but I will start having flutter etc.

Hello, Finlander! How are you?

There is really no time limit, some people need to take medications like this for the rest of their lives. It depends on whether or not it is helping you and your liver function remains normal.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and vision problems.

With the evaluations you said you're having every 6 months, your doctor is doing the right thing and being very conscientious about your care and safety.

Is this the only medication you're taking?
