How Long Before The Side Effects Disappear?
UpdatedHi, I've been taking Nexium for about a year having switched from Lansoprazole which seemed to have become less effective for my reflux issues. The side effects have gradually worsened over the last 6 months, beginning with bloating that worsened as the day went on but in the last 6 weeks constant headaches and loose stools and diarrhoea with nasty stomach cramps. I stopped taking the Nexium 2 days ago and I'm currently using Ranitidine while my Dr is arranging tests. The headaches are a little better but the gastric symptoms are unchanged, how long might it be before things get back to normal? Many thanks, Matt.

Hello, Matt! How are you? I'm very sorry about what you've experienced.
It may take about a month, or so, for the side effects to fully go away and for your body to return to normal.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of Ranitidine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and flatulence.
Is there anything else I can help with?
