Good morning. How long does it take for angeliq to be out of your system after you have stopped using it. I must go for a mammogram and draw blood to check my hormone level. At this stage I have a lump in my breast. My breast was very sensitive and sore. after that my breast became red and warm. Then I stopped angeliq. Now it's fine except the lump in my breast. I want to go to the Dr for them to draw blood and he must refer me for a mammogram.

The half-life for Angeliq, which is the amount of time it takes to reach 50% of it's initial level in your body, is 36 to 42 hours, and it takes 5 to 6 half-lives to be fully cleared from your system, which would be 180 to 252 hours, so the maximum time would be 10.5 days.

The FDA warns that stopping it abruptly may result in your experiencing some withdrawal effects, such as nausea, headache, irritability, an hot flashes.

However, your mammogram can be done, even if you are taking it, and given that you have a breast lump, you should have it done, as soon as possible.
