I take a cartizem 180 er in the morning. I had a cardiac ablation just about two months ago and I'm experiencing a more rapid heart rate than normal that goes on for about 3 hrs. I took a 60 mg cartizem at 12:00. When can I take another one? I'm still experiencing rapid on and off heart rate.

Hello, Julie! How are you? I am sorry about the problem you're experiencing.
When is the rapid heart rate occurring? Is it any specific time of day? After eating? After certain activities?
You should not adjust your dosage, without your doctor's approval. While I know these experiences are scary, you need to get in and see them, as soon as possible, before making any changes, or adding more doses.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
How high has your heart rate been going?
