How Does A Drug Screen Presumpt Work?

My urine was sent to the Lab for Methadone that was not supposed to be in my system which I took over 14 days ago. The Lab did a "Drug Screen Presump" which I would love to know what that is as well as underneath it says "Methadone". I have to pay 22.94 for the Presumpt and another 28.00 for the Methadone. Does anyone know what this is or how this works?

Hello. The test was probably correct. I have seen patients test pos for methadone even past 14 days.

Hi! Thank you. Yes, I know it is correct and I admitted to it as they just recently took me off of it and put me on Fentanyl. But, this is the kicker! I also had taken Oxymorphone and had taken it like #4 days before my UA. Nothing was said about that and wondering if it is because they just tested for the Methadone. Any feedback on this? I am screwing up!

Hi star, it sounds like they def didn't do just a five-panel test, to test for methadone on its own. A 7 to 12 panel was most likely done. Most places used to do just 5 panel testing for thc, pcp, coke, opiates, etc. Many opiates are excreted as morphine; to narrow it down a larger panel is done.

As for the oxymorphone 4 days before test, it has a very low bioavailability when taken orally. This drug was made for IM or IV administration, as you only get around 30% of whatever mg dose you're taking. Having been 4 days from your last dose, it should not show a positive test result, although many factors like metabolism, fast or slow can alter the duration it can be excreted in urine. Don't worry about it, the methadone is a different animal. With it 72hr+ half-life and long term duration of action, I have seen patients who have been on it for a while test positive after 3 to 4 weeks since their last dose... plz do not let anyone tell you methadone gets in your bones, or marrow. If you find anyone who does they are most likely *****s. Feel free to ask anything that is on your mind.
