I have a friend who takes suboxone & recently got a subutex given to him. I take suboxone myself but ive never heard of subutex until couple days ago. I would like to know how is subutex supposed to be taken? Under your tongue or do u swallow it? I am worried about my friend & i have searched every site possible on information on subutex but none of these sites say how it is suppose to be taken. what are the side effects of subutex? why do doctors give pregnant women subutex & not suboxone during pregnancy? i need to know any & all information on subutex. i have hidden the pill from my friend until i can try 2 find some information on it & he has been sick but i dont want anything bad to happen to him.also is subutex a small white round pill with number 8 on one side & an arrow on the other & does it come in any other forms or colors etc.? I'm desperate for answers!!!!!

So wrong. Naloxone has a very short half life. Buprenorphine also has a far greater affinity for the mu-opioid receptors, hence the reason Naloxone does not reverse a Buprenorphine/Subutex/Suboxone overdose but will reverse opioids. Also if a methadone overdose is reversed with Naloxone, after 30 mins the patient can go back into overdose without having taken any more methadone because the Naloxone will wear off but the methadone won't have yet because it has a very long half life, but Naloxone's half life is well under 30 mins! Naloxone is the opioid antagonist with a long half life but has even less affinity for the receptors than buprenorphine. Terribly incorrect information throughout and equally bad spelling.

not all is mind over matter. some people actually have had horrible things happen to them and have to have something to ease there day.herniated disks were like a pinch on the arm compared to my problems. i wont go in to it beacuse it would take forever to explain but I promise you its not all mind over matter. plenty of people do over do it though. that's for sure. I'm glad your strong enough to go through what you are going through.

Just to let everyone know that suboxone can be injected. I haven't done it myself but I know at least 5 people who take it this way and they get high and no sickness. The naloxone only blocks opiates. Does not make you sick when injected, or at least it didn't with any of the people that I know.

Just read the rest of the posts. Man there are a lot of people out there that are uneducated about this subject despite being on the drug. First, you cannot die from opiate or bup withdrawal. You might feel like your going to but you can't. Second, subutex is not stronger than suboxone. 8 milligrams of bup., the active ingredient in both, are of the same intensity and amount. The only diff. Is the naloxone is in suboxone and not in subutex. Third, even though this has jack s***! To do with subs, you would have to be an idiot to think there was some kind of conspiracy on 9/11. So the government or whoever you say decided to shoot a cruise missile at the pentagon the same day it is proven beyond dispute that two planes hit the towers and one went down in Pennsylvania. Yeah that makes sense. Finally, about the naloxone. When you take suboxone sublinguilly, which for the addicts on here means under the tongue, you hardly get any of the naloxone anyway so it doesn't really matter if its bad for you or not. The naloxone is not processed very well this way so most of the drug is of no consequence. The only reason naloxone was added was the same reason the strips came out. They changed the form of the drug so they could hold their patent on it longer to prevent generics for a bit longer to make a bit more cash. The naloxone does not make you sick if you take other opiates afterwards because the other opiates can't be processed properly because of the bup. Blocking your opiate receptors. However if you take the opiates with no bup in your system and then take the bup you can get deathly sick. Naloxone is designed to make you sick in conjunction with your opiate receptors full of a agonist. Bup is a antagonist and binds to the opiate receptors much more than an agonist. If your receptors are filled with bup then the naloxone cannot make you sick because the traditional opiates, which are agonists, cannot bind to the receptors. The only thing will happen is you will waste your time and money. The only exception that i know of is methadone because it is such a.strong agonist that it can compete somewhat with the antagonist bup. To bind to your opiate rectors, also known as dopamine receptors. And this will cause the naloxone, what little makes it to your brain, to make you sick. Just a little info for everyone.

The difference between Suboxone and Subutex is that Suboxone has, I think it's called, Naloxone in it which is an opiate blocker. I don't know why or how that works but that's the way it is. You should have no problems taking either one @ the same time.

Suboxone & Subutex should both be taken Sublingually, (Under the Tongue) There are many tiny blood vessels there that quickly absorb it into your bloodstream....If you swallow it, it has to go thru your digestive system which takes much, much longer to get into your blood stream...Believe me, under the tongue is by far the best way to take it. It works almost instantly that way...GOOD LUCK.!.!.!

Sorry, "Subutex Head", but the "54-411 are identical to the ones that have an eight on one side and an arrow on the other side. They are both 8 mg of Buprenorphine with no blocker, I don't know who told you that the 54-411's are any different. The only difference is the Manufacturer...Just because the 54-411's are bigger does not mean that they are 3 times stronger. That would mean that the bigger ones are 24mg. They don't even make 24mg Subutex or Suboxone. You need to Google it & inform yourself a bit more 'cause you have no clue what you're talking about. Sorry, no disrespect intended...

Anyone find that subby keeps them awake!!! I dosed off for a few hours earlier in the evening in the lounge and woke up - thought I'd go to bed while I was still drowsy and I've been laying in bed ever since!!

I did a 8mg sub at about 9 in the morning(Let dissolve under tongue)for about 25 to 30 mins...............At about 10pm the same night I did 100mg of morphine(snorted)and didnt even feel it! I went 3 days without subs and did another 100mg morphine....you better believe I felt those 100mg because I know longer had subs in my system,If you don't believe me try it! you won't get high if you take opiates with subs and thats a fact!

Actually Subutex should not be prescribed to women that are pregnant. How do I know? I had to do a pregnancy test in a treatment center to see if I was able to take subutex the doctor told me that if it was positive i would not be prescribed subutex or suboxone. There is a small difference between the two; Subutex is a stronger concentrate of buprenorphine than suboxone.

SUBUTEX IS NOT A BLOCKER IT IS BUPRENORPHINE. SUBOXONE HAS A BLOCKER IN IT. IT IS MADE UP OF TWO ACTIVE INGREDIENTS BUPRENORPHINE AND NALOXONE (NALOXONE IS THE BLOCKER). Subutex does not have the naloxone added, this incgredient will block u from getting high from anything while on it. The point is to give it addicts to keep them from using and also keeps you from withdrawing. Subutex does not have a blocker so u will feel the affects of a medication that gets u high. Also with suboxone where it has the bkocker u with be thrown into hyper withdrawl. They say that its the wotse feeling of withdrwl u will experience. But people whats the point of getting on suboxone and still using when there is a desperate addict out there that is told they have ! A 2 year waiting list ur taking the spot of someone that want nothing more in this world than to b clean. And people are using auboxone as a free high or a middl man in case u can't get the fix of the day and ruining the system fornpeoplle that want a life a ckean life. Conscience people.

Hey subutex goes under the tongue. you shouldnt make your friend suffer. just tell him not to take any opiate or methadone. if he does he should wait 3 days of nothing before he can take it. I take the bigger subutex and they rock to insufflate. yes you can insufflate em. you can IV subutex if you want. I get the 54 411 and they're white, the ones that you have with the arrow and the number 8. I've had them.

1st of all you are dead wrong about the big pills that say 511 & the ones that have an 8 being different. They're both 8mg Subutex. The only reason the pharmacist would give you the big ones with 511, or the small ones with eight, without questioning it, is because they are exactly the same. If the 511 were three times stronger and the doctor wrote 8 mg, you could get either. They don't make either Subs higher than 8mg...do some research.!!.!
