How Do You Take Subutex? Swallow Or Put Under Tongue To Dissolve? (Page 6) (Top voted first)

I have a friend who takes suboxone & recently got a subutex given to him. I take suboxone myself but ive never heard of subutex until couple days ago. I would like to know how is subutex supposed to be taken? Under your tongue or do u swallow it? I am worried about my friend & i have searched every site possible on information on subutex but none of these sites say how it is suppose to be taken. what are the side effects of subutex? why do doctors give pregnant women subutex & not suboxone during pregnancy? i need to know any & all information on subutex. i have hidden the pill from my friend until i can try 2 find some information on it & he has been sick but i dont want anything bad to happen to him.also is subutex a small white round pill with number 8 on one side & an arrow on the other & does it come in any other forms or colors etc.? I'm desperate for answers!!!!!

That sounds like a suboxen pill.. I know my subutex is a peach color and it dissolves underneath my tounge. It takes forever to dissolve though. I have heard of white subutex pills , the differene between the 2 is that suboxen has nalone which is a known opioid blocker when subutex does not, I find the withdrawal from subutex is nowhere near as bad as suboxen. I would choose subutex any day over suboxen. Good luck

Tried Suboxone 8 mg film it helped all my pain and gave me energy. Clinic gave me Zubsolv Buprenorphine 8.6/naloxone 2.1. In 45 min. I got overdose symptoms. Sick delirium for 3 days. Why was there such a huge difference? I never went back.

Everyone has their way that worked for them. Just because this way worked for you doesn't mean it will work for them. Many things come into play. If it was that cookie cut everyone would stay clean. Congraduations on getting clean! It is an easier softer way forsure! Almost 4years for me and I did suboxone for 6 months and have been off for almost 4years.

You place the strip under your tongue for 3 to 5 minutes and spit all the left over out. You will feel its effect more and have no headache. Just try it and you will see I am right.

I don't know what insurance you guys have but I've been paying 1 dollar and 25 cents for three 8mg subutex a day for years now. No withdrawals at all. For 3 months i tried suboxone, it made me so sick just coming off a little. I love subutex, never have a problem and my dr gives me two 30mg adderall a day, three 1mg clonazepam and wellbutrin.

Nope, its the naloxone in the suborned that is an issue. From the 70s - 90s only methadone was prescribed for pregnant addicts because it was unknown if buprenorphine would hurt the fetus.

However there have been many studies on the fact that buprenorphine is safe for unborn children and is now actually becoming the preferred method.

It would be unethical to have a controlled blind study on the effect of naloxone on pregnant mothers so that's why it's not recommended.

I have always swallowed my subs and wondered if they say u only get 20% of the affects, should the withdrawals be less if I quit taking them. I want to quit but scared of withdrawals. I can't afford to be sick more than a week or 10 days. Anyone no this answer. It would make sense since I'm only getting less of the affects.

every one gets a big tolerance when doing opiates. vikes and all that have never done anything.take 1 or 100 that day. nothing! methadone worked well for awhile but even then i was at 450mg a day and could have kept going with ease. your lucky you were that low on those few meds you were on. now I have a pain pump. be grateful that's all you had to do for those few years. remember people have it twenty times worse like me. glad your doing better though.

Wow you're all nubs , you can safely shoot or snort subutex or suboxone. They make subutex with and without naloxin all suboxone has naloxin in it. You can snort and get a quicker stronger high that won't last as long or put it under your tounge and let it dissolve for at LEAST 20 mins before you eat drink talk or smoke for best bio obsorption , if you have never taken it before be careful subutex is a extremely potent opiate 8mg of subutex is equal to 120mg of oxycodone or roxicodone , so start small before you guys start snorting or banging , the pills duration snorted is 4-6 hours under the tounge is 8-12 hours shooting it is a intense 4 hour high similar to heroin , and yes subutex brand name says B8 on it or 54 411 white round pills . Withdrawal simptoms from Long use of subutex WILL be much worse then withdrawing from heroin and will last for about 14 days to a month of withdrawing even when people taper down they feel depressed and moody. Be safe

Yeah tell the pharmacy and your doctor you want subutex tell them you need the big white ones no the ones with 8 an the arrow it takes 3 of those to equal 1 of the subutex that say 54 411 tell your doctor subutex that the zolsolv cuz that's what he you and insufflating is the absolute best way trust me when you get them filled ask them for the 54 411 I filled mine and the pharmacist opened the bottle and showed me one you get those you feel wonderful just insufflating but it works under takes about 30minutes to an hour to dissolve I would insufflate one subutex at a time. I'm on 4 a day because of my tolerance but I make sure at the pharmacy they are the 54 411

Subutex & Suboxone should both be taken under the tongue (Subingual). It says that on every bottle of it I've seen. If you look under your tongue, you'll see that there are many blood vessels, very close to the surface of that skin. By putting the medicine under your tongue, it is more quickly absorbed by your body. It desolves quickly & is absorbed by those Sublingual vein's.!.!.!

Suboxone has an Opiate blocker in it, Naloxone. Subutex doesn't have the blocker. Both should be taken Sublingually (Under the tongue) ...if you look under you tongue you can see many tiny blood vessels. They absorb the medication very quickly. If you swallow it you'll probably lose 1/2 of the effect & it will take much longer to get into your blood-stream... It should say, in big letter's to take it sublingually. That way it goes straight into your blood-stream & not have to go thru your entire digestive system...

Well my opinion is that there is definitely something that differs the big one and the one with the 8 even though both of them are 8mg the small one seems to have a little more kick or maybe a ingredient that isn't in the big one Ii preferably like the big one better it seems to have a lot better effect on me than the other. I'm going to take either when withdrawing though.

I just got put on subutex and I think that's why it's not quite working for me!! the taste is so horrible that I fish my mouth with water to lessen the taste and to dissolve it faster. guess I'll have to try to grin and bare it! haha, Thnx for the much needed info.
