How Can I Get Pain Medication Stronger Than Fentanyl? (Top voted first)
UpdatedI was given 150 mg of fentany patches I change every three days also the doctor gave me Hydromophone 8mg six three times a day. This medication was given to me over ten years ago for fibromyalgia. I have been taken a very powerful and deadly dose of narcotics and other medications for years. Now the doctors wont to take the medications away from me. I have wing myself off half of what was persubscribe to me at the doctors office. My body is in so much pain everday no doctor want to help me. The doctor that prescribed this medication to me will not accept me back as a patient. What can I do ?

Kratom, you not sereous are you. Yes some people us it and some also use it for withdraw is larger doses. But to go from fentanal or any other op pain med. Kratom won't do anything.
It's a wonderful analgesic similar to how propofol works as an anesthetic but as we saw with Michael Jackson these SURGICAL meds should never be prescribed outside a surgical setting.
When I did take fentanyl he changed out the box every 2 days because my metabolism burns them out good luck
Wow. I have severe fibro and I get nothing that works. Oxycodone stopped working after 9 months. I got methadone from doctor and in two days I got a one year remission. It’s back with a vengeance and only Vicodin works. 10 mg a day = life NO WAY they tell me! So I suffer terribly
Dear Rose,
Sorry to hear about your situation with pain management. Unfortunately I don't know of anything a doctor could prescribe that is as strong or stronger than Fentanyl. But seeing how those doctors wont bother to help you for whatever reason, there is a plant by the name of Kratom that other chronic pain patients here reportedly had success with... And on another positive note, medical cannabis is also touted for its ability to help pain patients rely on less narcotics. Perhaps those two options might be worth looking into...? This way you'd have something to mask pain as well as something that possessed a form of healing attributes (CBD's for example). I know pain can be a very difficult thing to manage, but at some point when all our primary treatment options have been exhausted we just have to resort to the next best thing or the next best thing after that to at least receive some relief, which is certainly better than none at all.
I wish you all the relief in the world and hope you're able to find some common ground with regards to available treatment.
@SamuelRosen (Re: kratom)
You don't truly know that until you try it. Same goes with any pain relieving substance, be it pharmaceutical or otherwise. We all react/respond differently, am I right? Pain patients in particular shouldn't avoid potentially helpful treatment options based out of sheer disbelief and no personal experience. Someone who is truly in horrific pain will try whatever it takes before formulating an opinion on something... If anything, perhaps it would allow someone who is opioid dependent to take a smaller dose and still get through the day as if they took the full amount... An open mind and willingness to take risks is an essential component to addressing difficult situations in all aspects of life. I don't think pain management is an exception. Especially when patients have to practically beg their doctors to give them something that works...
Well for one fentanyl is not the strongest, mcg to mg yes but none of that matters. It's a good drug to help with pain and also has,a,great, sedative effect.but unless you can get IV fentenal such u won't, forget it. If you can get hydromorphone high potency in IV or I'M for you be very happy. IV oxymorphone is,just as,good those 2 drugs, where, ment only for iv and,I'M, use as,there vioavalivilty for oxymorph is,10% and, hydromorphone, is,10-35% so,for, every 10mg, your takin you get only 1mg and on hydro,1-3 mg, so when in pull for the suck.
The Pills that I can take so that I can see my periods immediately just want the name of the pills, because I feel like I'm pregnant but the date of my period hasn't come yet
Be you looked iWow Rose that's a VERY VERY HIGH DOSE!!! Why would your doc cut you off like that those are the two strongest pills and patches out there? And good luck getting another doctor to write you that strong of a combination. Have you looked into the Buspatch it's a 7 day patch I believe. Or if try and get the oxymorphone ER'S 40mg those are my favorite and work VERY well. Good luck and keep us posted
Yeah they also have 4 other FENTANYL derivative meds that are stronger then FENTANYL. Yet as you said they are used in the Hospital during surgery! They are not SCRIPTED AS THEY ARE TOO DANGEROUS! FACTS
You were taking an absolutely massive dose of narcotics for a condition that does not respond well to narcotics - FMS. It is a new day and doctors are not writing those kinds of doses, especially for new pts. Use anticonvulsants and/or antidepressants for your pain. It is likely that you have hyperesthesia - more pain as a result of the opioids you were on that produce hypersensitive pain receptors. If your doctor who will no longer treat you entered the reason into the CURE'S database you may have trouble finding any physician who will prescribe you opioids. Try to find a pain psychologist to work with.
Dr. Tim Sams
You were on a staggeringly high dose of opioids; you will be hard pressed to find someone who will prescribe even half this dose. It is a new day medication wise. 100mg Morphine Equivalent is considered the highest dose within revised standards of practice. Good luck. You should try the anticonvulsants again.
Please look up and try Wild Lettuce. Works better than rx pain pills, with no addiction & no side effects. Works better than you could ever believe. Sound frequencies also do a phenomenal job at killing pain. (YouTube)
God IS with you.
Man whats your docs name im in aganizing pain from three accidents and ive never been perscribed any kind of pain meds but have an unusiual high tollerance so i need a doc that pretty much lets you tell them what ya want and rights it
This one is twice as strong as fentanyl....Remifentanil (marketed by GlaxoSmithKline and Abbott as Ultiva) is a potent, short-acting synthetic opioid analgesic drug. It is prescribed to patients during surgery to relieve pain and as an adjunct to an anesthetic.
