How Can I Find A Pain Dr In Atlanta Who Prescribes Methadone
UpdatedNeed a doctor in Atlanta GA for Methadone for Pain. Its the only thing that has helped relieve back pain and without it, theres no point. Ive been on a low dose. Because of people overdosing and dying, we are now treated as criminals - and due to liability issues, doctor after doctor no longer prescribes. No doctor will help me so Im now panicking because I dont want to be in debilitating pain. Plus in our healthcare system, doctors get paid by insurance for procedures and so theyw ant to to that cuz they make more than a drug script

Hi MAT,
Here is a list of doctors who can prescribe methadone, suboxone, and subutex in the Atlanta, GA area.

Also, have you ever considered trying acupuncture or essential oils? I've heard that those natural remedies can be quite beneficial to those dealing with pain. Here is a link to a site that gives information about specific oils that work well for pain: experience-essential-oils.com/essential-oils-for-pain.html
I hope this helps, please post back if you have any more questions or concerns.
OK For those of you near Atlanta or in South Tennessee/North Alabama:
If you are on Methadone for PAIN do this: do a web search of methadone clinics in Georgia. you'll find North-West Georgia Treatment Center. Think its in Fort Oglethorpe. Call them EARLY in the morning. Ask to speak with a nurse or the Director. Tell them you are considering them as a clinic, you live in Chattanooga (or nearby) or just moved, but you want to know about the facility. FIND OUT THE MEDICAL DOCTOR'S NAME. He ALSO has a pain clinic and prescribes methadone for his pain patients. I've talked with him (used to be a reporter) and he will most likely help you. Fort Oglethorpe is minutes (like 5) from Chattanooga, and Chatt. is only an hour from Atlanta. If you only had to drive an hour every month, that's not so bad, is it? Good luck.

You people who ask for specific medications look suspicious to doctors. INSTEAD: tell them BRIEFLY (not every boo-boo you've ever had) your problem and what has worked before. You can mention (I'd recommend not) one or two things that haven't worked, but the point is: don't try to "steer" a doctor to a med. They see right thru it.
