If you want to get off of these medications in the safest manner, I would first recommend that you seek more personalized advice from your doctor who knows your medical history and other factors that should be taken into consideration before tapering.

Your doctor may lower the dosage of both medications or even suggest taking each pill in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them.
