How Long Until The Codeine Effects Wear Off?

I was prescribed codeine by the doctor and was taking it 4 times a day. It made me feel so sick. I couldn't eat without throwing it up and It made me so drowsy and i got headaches and constipated. So now the doctor has told me to stop taking them. My last dosage was at 13:00 today. how long until it leaves the system and I feel less sick from it?

Sorry about the side effect issues you've had. Codeine and I have never gotten along either, so I understand.

Codeine has a pretty short half-life, but it's really going to depend on how long you were taking it and you didn't mention that, but I'd say it should start to improve in about 24 hours, or so.

If you're still experiencing issues after that, be sure to call your doctor for a follow up.
