How Long Do Lyrica Side Effects Last?

I have been on Lyrica for about 3 weeks now for neuropathic pain. I am an MS patient and the Lyrica is helping. I have had side effects of weight gain and sleepiness. I may have to increase my dosage because I am still having a little pain. Can anyone tell me how long the side effects last and does increased dosages ease your pain more.

I am taking lyrica, methadone, klophin, and vesicare. I get very dizzy and where I can barley keep my eyes open. I have been on methadone 160 for two years just started the lyrica for fibromyalgia and klophin for PTSD. WHY AM I SO DIZZY AND NODDING
I found Lyrica to work wonderfully for both my FMS, back pain and Intercostal neuritis. I gained 30 lbs last yr and went off of it due to the wt gain. The dr put me on Topamax instead which restricts your appetite buts is suppose to control your nerve pain the same way. It didn't as well, so I am now on a combination of the Lyrica and the Topamax and doing much better. Topamax is also an anti seizure medication. The only drawback is that these meds are very expensive, even with a good insurance.

UP IN DOSSAGE MAY HELP THE REST OF YOUR PAIN. ASK YOUR DR. ABOUGHT PROVIGIL FOR YOUR SLEEPINESS. IT WAS MADE FOR THE MILLATRRY AND FOR PEOPLE WHO HAD TROUBLE STAYIN AWAKE AT WORK.DRINK WATER TO CURVE YOUR EATING, CAUSE IT DO,S MAKE YOU HUNGREY.
I have been on lyrica for four days 50mil.how long will it kick in i'm in a lot of pain for the shingles
It is hard to say how long the side effects will last, it can vary from person to person, it can also vary according to your dosage and your drug tolerance, for most people it ranges anywhere from 2 weeks to a month.
Whether or not a higher dosage will relieve your pain more is another thing that no one can say for sure. Some people get great results from these types of meds and some don't. You will just have to try it and see what happens, and follow your doc's recommendations.
I tried similar types of meds and when I first started taking it, I had pain relief, it didn't last long though, and then no matter how much we raised the dosage, they never helped again.
But, as i said, some people do get great results from them, so it has to be a trial and error type thing.
