Tussicaps contain the active ingredients:
Hydrocodone + Chlorpheniramine

The terminal elimination half-life of Chlorphenamine is reportedly around 20 hours; while for Hydrocodone the average half-life is about 4 hours.

Half-life here means that, say, 20 hours after ingesting Tussicaps, half of the active amount will be gone. This doesn't mean that 20 hours later, though, the other half will be gone. At that point half of the remainder will be gone, then another half after the same time interval, and so on, until the drug is eliminated from the body.

I've heard that it can take about 5 half-lives for a drug to be completely out of your system. So depending on the dose taken, I'd imagine that it could be a couple weeks or less before it is out of your system indefinitely. One would have to do the math based on the above info to get a more accurate estimate for each individual.

To my knowledge, Hydrocodone is out of your system within 3-4 days due to its relatively short half-life, but Chlorphenamine is going to take a lot longer to leave your system.
