How Long Should I Wait After Taking Methadone To Take Percocet Or Klonopin?

I am addicted to opiates. Mostly Oxycodone, and Vicodin if I can't find my drug of choice. I am also prescribed Klonopin, 1mg 2X a day. A couple days ago, someone gave me 1 10mg Methadone because I was sick from not having my D.O.C. I was told not to take my Klonopin though because the mixture could be deadly. However I've just learned that mixing other opiates with Methadone can hurt you as well. So I took the methadone Saturday evening. Sunday I took Vicodin throughout the day, but did not take my Kpin. All day today I have been doing Percocet. I have done about 80mgs over the period of 5 hours. I also took my Klonopin today. I just learned today that methadone has a long half life, and that it probably is still in my body because it is only 3 days since I took it. My question is that since I've taken all of that Percocet, and Klonopin today should I be worried about going to sleep tonight? I'm scared and do not want to go to sleep, because if the Methadone is still in my body, and now I have added Vicodin, Percocet, and Klonopin over these 2 1/2 - 3 days, I'm worried about all the things I've read about respiratory failure with mixing these things, and Methadone. I keep telling myself that 10mgs of Methadone a couple days ago should not affect me today, and then I've read so many horror stories about the half life of Methadone along with Benzos, and other Opiates. Can someone please help me? I will not go to sleep until I am convinced that I will wake up. Also are there any things that I could look for that would lead me to believe I should not sleep/or that I will be ok? I haven't, and will not take Methadone again. Thank you for anyone who answers with knowledge and/or experiences.

Dude, you should really consider treatment for your addiction. You are at a point where the high could be life threatening. It isnt worth giving your life for. If you choose to not seek help just stick with the Hydros or the Oxys. If you run out then just deal with the detox. Don't just start taking whatever you can find to feel high. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME.
That's a load of you know what. Especially the two years thing. And I speak from 30 years of experience.
SWIM
With all do respect 980 mg. of oral methadone is inconsistent with any treatment modality Iam personally aware of per verifiable case history of such.I'm a former high dose MMT client and currently employed as an intake supervisor for said treatment. Not withstanding habit 1000 mgs of methadone daily is frankly a ludicrous dose!!!!! Metabolic issues and other conditions may require upward dosing but even specialty clinics wouldnt medicate north of 300 mg. p.o. daily.
Also there is no 'blocker' like in suboxone that prevents you from using. You can take oxy with methadone you're just going to need to do a whole lot more because done is so strong receptor wise. Generally within 3-4 days things should go back to 'normal' for you though.
Swim is not a doctor and is only expressing his personal knowledge.
Swim knew someone who was taking $500-$1000 of black tar for 5 years. He went on methadone for 2 years (peak of 980mg of methadone a day, the worst habit swim has ever heard of). 16 days in the hospital and 3 weeks at home before swims friend felt better. Generally the normal addict will be sick for 3 weeks and feel like death and by 4 or 5 weeks they start to feel better. 6-8 weeks they feel better (pink cloud) and it takes generally 2 YEARS for your brain to totally function normally. Some of you might want to think about that, TWO YEARS OF YOUR LIFE. Hey what does swim know, he has been clean for 5 years, gotten a degree in rehab treatment and has a neurosurgeon for a father. You all are messing around with stuff that you really don't know how dangerous and powerful it is (subutex, oxy and such) you should all be happy to be alive and take a look at your life, but I won't push swims personal feelings on anyone. Stay safe.
I was on methadone maintence and was prescribed 4 1mg xanax a day and was on 80mg of metahdone and never had any problems i took everything as prescribed and didnt abuse the nerve medications but i do know of people that was in the clinic that wasnt prescribed xanax and wasnt used to taking them and took them on the methadone and went into respiratory distesss and was on life support i was on xanax for four years and my body was use to them but i do know the docter at the clinic wouldnt take me any higher then 80mg on the methadone because of the xanax she told me anything higher with the amount of xanax i was prescribed could kill me so yes i do know it is very dangerous to mix the two with out being under a docters care and taking the medication right not taking to many more then prescribed
Bettyboob, I'm happy to read that they've got your pain under control! I to have been on time released morphine for 10+ years (same dose although they raised it from 180 to 240 p day bc my pain wasn't controlled but 240 was to much so I had them drop me back down) due to multiple spinal/spinal cord injuries, as well as addtl chronic pain issues. I just wonder if we'll ever be able to stop taking this crap!!? My pain isn't controlled to provide me a productive life. However, I'm upright n walking most days!! That there is a blessing!!! Good luck, good health, peace and happiness to all!
Not for me it was not a problem. Just don't take much
You don't know how your system will respond. Be careful.
I was on the methadone maintenance program for about five years and quit. After 6 months I relapsed and took 20 mg of methadone and 2 mg of Xanax and if my sister hadn't found me I wouldn't be here today!!! I was dead no heartbeat grey all over and spent 30 days in treatment and relapsed again then suboxone treatment quit cold turkey it's been since Thanksgiving and I feel horrible any suggestions on what to do for relief
My doctor took me off of methadone almost two years ago, I am glad he did. There are a lot of bad things that med can do to your body. I was first put on Duragesic patches for three years my body development a quick tolerance to it, then the methadone. Now I am on time released morphine, three times a day and it controls my pain , I have been on these types of meds for 16 years for numerous chronic pain issues. I wish you well.
How long after taking 5mg of methadone do I have to wait to take hydrocodone and I'm NOT opiate naive
Hey guys. I just remembered that I posted this awhile back. I just wanted to thank you all for your responses. Everything turned out just fine, but I won't be taking any methadone ever again. Just because I was fine, does not mean that it was a good idea, and does not mean anyone else will be. So please do not do what I did. I wanted to reply today to let you guys know that I was okay, and I really appreciate your concern, as well as your advice. Thank you all.
I TRULY and HONESTLY do believe you will wake up just fine in AM. Seriously taking all that!! that 10mg of methadone won't hurt you AT ALL!!!
I am on methadone and I too was on Valium for 15 years. Today I'm just on the methadone. One night I went to sleep and thank goodness my daughter came over I had went into a coma. I was on life support for 3 weeks. Thank god there was a god or I would not b here today. U too can go to sleep and not wake. U decide!
Your health in critical condition.your life is at risk.check your breathing I do not know. You still alive.you get my msg.i suggest you see a doctor
How are you feeling? Are you feeling extremely drowsy, dizzy or nauseous?
If not, then you are most likely past the danger point, but you should consult your doctor to be sure.
While Methadone does have a long half-life, it is still always slowly diminishing in the amount that is in your body.
The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
It is never a good idea to mix medications, especially taking something that isn't prescribed for you.
